Is there a rule saying that in this kind of case "this evening" means "the current evening" rather than "the evening that was mentioned before"? I got corrected in the same way about "this weekend" yesterday.

Ah, thanks a lot but as I'm 6'1 the layer might get permanently stretched in the process. Meh, I guess I'll be fine. Real shame is I also forgot the vodka flask.

Say, I know it's a bit far ahead, but I was wondering if anyone would like to team up for doing the Summer Arrow to York, starting from London.

Well I don't know, actually. Clearly until the 1st control it was madness. But you've got to love what came after that. We were rolling through the hills, with a view all around on top of it; you could see showers coming down at your left, sun piercing through overcast clouds down onto the land in front of you, a double rainbow on your right... quite scenic really, I don't regret a moment not bailing out at the beginning.

Heart Of England started off brutally as the better part of the way to the first control was done in heavy snow:

After that it became gradually sunnier and sunnier , and once we cleared all the big climbs and had the wind in our back for the second half, it was just a matter of enjoying the ride.

@Ludd unfortunately only a slight bend on the number plate - although on this kind of car this could end up costing more than the front wheel, who knows

Just got knocked on the ground by some idiot in a Maserati on my way home; cyclist is bruised and front wheel is making a figure of eight, so I think I'll skip this one. FUCK as YAL nicely put it. (Sorry, no group save for the Blackfriars bunch)
