Had a sketchy one last night - heading up Cranfield Road in Brockley as I turned onto the road a car was sat on the wrong side of the road talking to another driver (not a good start) then pulled off after I'd passed him. As there are cars on either side I was riding in primary out of the door zone, suddenly I feel the wind from his car as he passed within, honestly, 3 inches of my bars - I look over and see the guy (whilst still only inches from me) driving with his knees, head down, texting. The fact he hadn't hit me was a pure fluke as he obviously hadn't even seen I was there! Luckily I caught it on the Fly6, but glare meant you couldn't see him on the phone. Reported to plod, but doubt they'll do anything.

Anybody ever had an estate agent tell you that your offer has been accepted, got a letter through confirming that it's been accepted, then have their solicitor contact yours to tell them that it was actually rejected? I can't see how anybody benefits but equally can't see how the estate agent would have made that kind of screw up in the first place.

Nah - they're virtue signalling, Help for Heroes does very little actual work, they are just a fundraising organization who then give money to real charities. If they actually cared they'd give money directly to real charities, by doing it via HFH all they're doing is paying the salaries of HFH staff and giving less to charities doing the actual work.

Despite the epic headwinds this morning had some fun with people drafting.
Had one lady drafting me for a couple of minutes then overtake, only to be instantly hit by the wind and almost move backwards, then the guy drafting both of us overtook for the same thing to happen, jumped on his wheel as he overtook and managed to slingshot myself past both and wasn't caught again. I felt like Cav for the briefest of brief moments.

Had a strange one this morning - riding up Moorgate, through the roadworks, tons of cyclists about, not much room. I go past a car that's just sat in the middle of the lane and as I pass him he suddenly accelerates and nearly hits me. I look round and see he's on his phone so clearly just looked up, realised traffic had gone and hit the accelerator without looking. I wait until the next set of lights and come up next to his window and start waving - he's so engrossed in his phone that he doesn't notice me waving not 10 inches from his face, I need to actually knock on his window to get his attention!
It's then I realise that he isn't sending a text, answering a call, or checking directions - HE'S READING THE DAILY MAIL! To be fair to him after I called him an idiot and a threat to other road users he did admit that what he was doing was really stupid and we actually shook hands with him promising that he would stop, but still, reading the daily mail, on a phone screen, whilst controlling a 2 tonne vehicle may be one of the most moronic things I've seen a driver do (this week). -
My favourite smartphone zombie moments are when they step out, you shout, they drop their phone and their screen smashes. It has happened to me once. That was a good day.

Sold an HRM to some guy last week before heading over to NY for 2 days for work. Posted on Monday morning, fly Monday afternoon, I get back on Friday morning to find the guy sent me a message on Wednesday afternoon saying it works fine on some apps but not on the main app he wants it to work with which says he needs to update his iPad to make it work. He doesn't want to update his iPad, so how can I get the HRM to work with his app without having to update his iPad.
Obviously, I don't get the message until Friday morning because I am 5 hours behind in NY. By the time I see it he's claiming a refund because it's faulty as he can't make it work on his iPad because he doesn't want to update his iPad to make it work.
WTF is wrong with some people? It's working perfectly, listed accurately, but he expects me to pay him to return it then go through the hassle of selling it again all because he doesn't want to update his iPad!

Saw a guy lying in the road luckily surrounded by concerned people who seemed to be helping out, looked to be an incident with either a taxi or BMW. Looked like he was in a fair bit of pain, but didn't look to be life-threatening, bike looked like it was still in ok condition, so hard to say what happened but hope he's ok.

Bought this Mercian King of Mercia from a friend in Italy a couple of years ago, hadn't been used in 30 years and was 50/50 about whether it was salvageable, but it came with a few nice Nuovo Record bits so took a punt on it. Later found out that the bike was originally put together by Harry Hall (who put Tommy Simpson back on his bike) so a nice bit of history thrown in.
Had the frame repaired and repainted by Dan at Cole Coatings, needed new wheels and saddle, and since this pic was taken I put modern skeleton calipers on after a couple of squeaky bum, will I ever stop!?, moments, but they fit with the rest so only a close look would show they aren't original. Also, can't believe the picture I took was during the 5 minutes I had the bars at the wrong angle. Still really happy with the results.

Started seeing this guy on a red Merida disc mamil cart, with Assos shorts and replica WC jersey regularly on my commutes, one of the worst cyclists I've seen in London. Aims himself at pedestrians when overtaking on shared use paths forcing them to scatter, never seen him avoid RLJing, and overtakes at the the most stupid points to 'win at commuting' before being overtaken by every 1/2 fit person behind when overtaking is actually safe. It's started making what was a pleasant commute, blood boiling.
I did mention it but I don't know if there's much they can do unless they go to court and get to see his phone usage records - it wasn't caught on the video because of the glare from the windscreen.
They are keeping me in the loop - needed to slightly edit the video because of the 2 mins before and after rule - 2 mins after showed some identifiable stuff to me and they were really helpful with telling me what to do
