54 to 56 cm square, preferably in London for a first hand viewing before purchase.

For a friend who I think would prefer gears. Number of speeds not that important but will probably want 8 or less. He's got a fairly reasonable budget and would like a bike in pretty good nick. Wouldn't be keen on tubulars.

definitely, £100 is reasonable indeed! I am still kicking myself repeatedly for missing out on an MKM complete track bike with Campag components that sold for an absolute steal on ebay about a year ago. dammit!

Can't speak for the other brands but I've used the ice-toolz ones, seem to do the trick! I've also been recommended birzman tools as well, they look pretty reasonably priced
