Just been looking at specialized and they are speccing TranzX posts, i gotta feeling that's the same factory as Brand X ?
Might get round to building the KM up as technical trail slayer, dropper post would be useful :)
Moving house soon, should be within 2 hours of most of the Welsh Bike parks and Trail centers.

Kinda echoes the retailer reviews @pit :) which is good to hear.
Not really looked into them for years, all had suspect reliability and only in 30+ seat post sizes.
Was taken back to see some for £650 with bluetooth ? :) and at the time crank bros and Thomson came out the pricing was a bit steep we thought. -
Revising bike stuffs.
Anyone here used a "Brand X" dropper seatpost ? they do an external cable and in 27.2mm diameter. Seem reliable and score better than the more costly ones.
Thinking of bucking forum general thinking and actually getting rid of some Beiks and condensing what i have against having stuffs in boxes not being used.

Moving house soon so packed all books away.
Did get a recent one from waterstones, best stories of fishing from last 200years (or something like that) The hook for me (epuh) was the back cover about a bet about casting from a hotel to the Thames...... this involved an employee from Hardys being lashed to the chimney of a hotel and making a fly cast to the Thames. :)
If it's not windy shall attempt to not catch fish off Dungeness in the morning :)
-
Doing better than me, haven't caught anything yet, only had a few pulls.
Must try Dungeness again maybe the Thresher Sharks have gone now :)
Floats are a minefield too, from ultra light quill floats to heavy duty sea floats and all inbetween, mine are polystyrene cigar type that use 13 grams of weight.
-
Try fly fishing :)
About 50lb braid with a profiled synthetic outer layer, the line is the casting weight, the weight is built into the forward portion of the 30m length. I get to play with...
Floating (simples)
Intermeditate or Hover (sub surface floaters)
Sinking (simples)
Sinking but graded to inchs of sink per second of time (ballache)
But using freshwater line in saltwater alters things.I got 4 spools loaded up with used line but unsure what they are :) the floaters easy, but what i think is a sinker sort of acts like intermediate in salt water.

The scooter thing cropped up on youtube feed the other day.
Think it was Goonsquad off to buy a cheap boat project, stopped off in the city to try the scooters for rent. They kinda are nobs in cars and started joking about the scoots being slower than expected, which by the end of the rental they where glad they had been capped to 15mph and not the rumored 25-30mph...... America or Canada. And user protection was t-shirt and shorts and baseball cap so an off and tarmac interface at 30mph might have battered some sense into them quicker. -

Off to view an auction on Friday for classics.
Going off the supplied photos on the website both cars i like look allright.
However..... after running the plate numbers into the Gov.uk MOT history checker i get a wild story of one car (Healy) being a drive away job. The other car will need trailering away, new tyres, new king pins, brake work, probs lots of welding etc etc so i can rule that one out.
Going to view anyway, might watch the sale and see what they go for as the auction house are not putting guide prices out so far :(
In other words, it appears to be a minefield of getting a lemon or good one. -

Several weekly/monthly paper mags in WHSmiths on coarse fishing or Fly and sea fishing or just punch in your question to Youtube for a video answer.
Fly fishing is as i am finding out a very complex pastime with subtle variables depending on what month it is that could all be solved by lobbing a grenade into the water but that's unsporting and too cost effective. :)

The numbered scale around the spool tells you how much line the spool will hold in differing weights.
Normal practice is to get a spool of larger diameter line say 15lb and wind that on to fill up the spool, then add the 100m of lighter line, not likely you will have a fish run and strip 100m of 4lb line in a river or pond/lake :)
As to quick links... as already noted you can either tie on a small gemini clip hook or a small swivel, for the fly fishing i use a fine quick hook tied to the leader so i can just clip on/off flies over cutting off and retying.
If your in London visit Farlows at 9 Pall Mall and grab a catalogue (free) and up the road on the way to the tube station is the Orvis flagstore, grab a catalogue from there too, both are more Game and Fly fishing but worth a wander into :)
