The colour is not my favourite Merckx team livery but it's the original 1993 Team Vlaanderen 2002 colours. Hope it rides well as I intend to use it on the track this autumn and winter.

The bike is a rather rare Eddy Merckx Columbus Max Pista so it deserves this little investment.

Found a NOS one in Holland. Ordered it an will cost me 40€. 😩 But I got the stem for a reasonable 65€ so all together still within the budget.

New stem for my Merckx MXL Pista. Now only need to find a top cap for it.

Don't have a picture of it but at the Specialized promotion stand they had the 1992 M2 that was ridden by Ned Overend (complete with Sugino disc wheel, Suntour groupset and those fugly bars from Profile). Seemed the man himself was there too and even participated in the race!

Spotted this one today at the Hero Südtirol mountainbike marathon.

Was looking for another stem for the bike and found a Cinelli Grammo Titanium for peanuts. Think it will look nice with the (semi-) bulky Max tubing.

Yeah, really a one in a million find. Columbus Max tubing and forks. It's even my size. 😊

Found this one today. A 1999 Eddy Merckx Pista in professional team "Vlaanderen 2002" livery. Max tubing, Max forks. Can't wait for winter to come and ride it on the Ghent track.

Haven't been on here for a while and the sad news about @Technics100 was the first thing I read. I'm shocked. I remember he was thinking of showing his watercolours at a local Christmas event. Seems he never got the chance to. :-( What a sad news... Condolences to his beloved ones.
