Yeah you have to clutch in as normal with a sequential on the way down in lieu of some sort of GCU / blipper / paddle shift system.

Downshifting it not quite so simple as just using a throttle blip on a sequential if the box is manually actuated, it's actually quite hard to unload the box under braking (or any time the throttle is shut)

You don’t necessarily loose the clutch or the requirement to toe heel with a sequential, unless you invest in a fairly advanced control system you still clutch in on the way down

Alternative?

Porsche supplied Sequential competetition gearbox in the Tuthill cars. Probably the same box as the RSR race car but with a different set of drop gears and final drive in it

Hmm this seems expensive to just lose the shaft, even the dbw conversion on a jenvey isn’t that spendy

You can get LED light units that are much more compact but they look toss and I wanted to keep the 90s rally aesthetic, so I’m planning on finding some round LED units to mount in them

Unfortunately no, still quite a lot of fabrication / resto work to do on other areas of the shell. although i am considering getting some outside assistance with that too.

I think you’ve got it right, from what I can see the rest is non-essential.

The engine stuff needs the root cause solving first - you might change that rocker gasket and it’ll just leak again if another issue is to blame

Yeah I was just thinking that - considering it’s both at once is there a breather issue.

I’d get anything essential suspension and braking done this time and the rest as funds allow
