Clearly, motorists rage is making life for the cyclist more dangerous.
I can't help thinking that their rage is being exacerbated by the measures designed to keep cyclists safe: segregation reduces road space for the "entitled" and so when there's no segregation, the cyclist is the focus of each moment of their delay and thus of their anger, or simply much more vulnerable to the angry/distracted/delayed/those feeling "deprived" of time or road space -

Make sure the bead of the tire on the side you seat first is central around the rim of the wheel rather than to it's edge. This gives you a tad more slack on the final quarter of the "near" side. I've found tyre levers less effective than bloody strong thumbs...
And when you've done I have a Schwalbe marathon tire onto a Brompton wheel you can do;)

Presteigne... We came up through Monmouth single track road all the way to the Neals Yard dairy at Dorstone. Turned right, Eardisley, Kington, Titley, Rodd and into Presteigne. Then follow the sign for the cemetary!
Then
Bedstone, Kempton, Totterton and on up The BogVery quiet roads but some steep stuff (and I tend to avoid that - I was on a Moulton and they do hills as poorly as me!)
Further up, we did
Gars tang, Lancaster canal, Silverdale, Milnthorpe, Ambleside, Grasmere, back of Thirlmere, B5322 then over Mungrisdale to Hesket as a day
Hesket, Carlise, Gretna, Langholm, Innerleithen as a day
Innerleithen - Perth
Inverness
Brora (via Nidd bay ferry)
However, getting to Garstang from a night near Malpas wars a bit grim via Warrington, Orrell and Preston and being Lancahire, it rainedGood luck - I enjoyed the planning a load as well as the ride

I put this in the Rides/Routes thread too in case you miss it...If you're aiming for a hill or two on your LEJoG, Presteigne and The Bog should be in there somewhere... Shropshire/Welsh borders way
And Carlisle to Edinburgh is lovely over the Moorfoot hills.
Aim for Hesket Newmarket in the northern Lakes... Stunning pub/library/internet caff/postoffice/ brewery in the middle of the village (and next to a decent B&B!)
I did A9 to Helmsdale and then northwest over the Strath, 37 miles of nothing. Stunning cycling but for cattle grids. Think it's on your map above - N/S road just west of JoG
Oh, and if I have one regret from my ride, it's not detouring to Lizard/Dounreay points to cover North and South, as well as west. I grew up near Lowestoft so have no desire to cycle there again!

I will watch football and get some of the tribalism in that but spitting at anyone is low. Spitting at someone pedalling their lungs out up a mountainside is beyond me. It can't be "team" loyalty as teams change regularly. Can it be "rival rider" loyalty? Nationalism? Or contempt for (believed) doping ? - which given things like the Astana DS is a bloody joke.
Sorry, beyond me...
Just got an email from TfL about the Elephant to CP Quiet Way
Comments to Lambeth Council
Odd one as I am reasonably local and I can't work out why they would route cyclists up (or down) narrow/busy Gypsy Hil) rather than the already (wide and) quiet College Rd to CP. Not being as masochistic as some of you, I know what I'd rather go up
Perhaps the feudal landlord that is the Dulwich Estate will have none of it
