The initial reports were so totally at odd with what I saw it was bizarre.
The video was from a phone from the back of one of the stands so you didn't see any of the detail (thank god) as above I can buy the idea that it was a kick aimed at the chest which has gone horribly wrong. I have no idea if that considered reasonable in hockey, I hope not.

There was very pronounced jumping karate style kick, bent leg to straight leg. Very un natural in a normal collision between two players, I know its different rules in hockey, but still.

I had the miss fortune of seeing a grainy video of this on social media the night it happened and was surprised it was being described tragic accident. (I assume that’s about as much I should say about my opinion)

Interesting that the supreme court decision on Rwanda is out on Wednesday. In a lot of ways it’ll be worse for the government if it’s ruled legal.
With a year to run until the election everyone will see that a tiny trickle of people being sent to Rwanda will do nothing to stop the boats and next summer if the weather is better the numbers will go up not down.
If they loss they can whine about the liberal establishment etc etc time to leave the Council of Europe.

I don't think rishi can sack her, it could very easy push the number of letters over the threshold for a vote of no confidence. he'll win it but then its only a matter of time before it all falls apart for him and they have to have an election. All rishi is intertest in now is steal as much money as he can for himself and his family.

Yeah, but it was interesting that the guardian made a point of not name the police force. that to me would suggest it might narrow down the names of who it might because they have a connection to the area.

For me an arrest is good enough and the name should be out there, but there’s problems either way. I’m sure the name is out there, as I understand it the papers could name them if they wanted to, it’s clearly in the public interest.
The drugs element of the case is interesting, I guess it was just an added bonus in the process of the arrest and will be very black and white so we might find out soon.
