Turned out I'd put the cable connecting to the derailleur the wrong side of the connecting bolt I'd put it along the top not the bottom. I'd taken the bike to Rhythm and Bike in Brighton they tried not to charge me but I gave them a drink, great guys.

basically only had to cut and fit forks as new frame so nothing to remove, having laugh trying to charge that but I guess there are people out there that will pay those sort of prices.

I got quoted £75 by The Bike Taylor in Brighton to cut and fit a set of carbon forks the other week ended up paying £15 at Rhythm and Bikes in Brighton then few days later they fitted bottom bracket and crank set for £10. Best to get a price first before you take the bike in.
This was in response to paying £50 to fit headset

gave up and sent it to local bike shop. I worked as a bike mechanic in 1990 at on-yer-bike in London Bridge but this got the better of me after 3 hours. First 12 speed set up I've worked on.

new frame new group set never been out of the house

Having issues trying to index brand new chorus 12 speed on new frame, when on large from ring going from 12th down at rear first 4 shifts work fine then after that chain wants to jump up to next ring when I adjust so it runs ok but it then fails to shift from 12th up again as loosened to much anyone have any ideas?

I'm about to fit a frame with new Chorus 12 speed and does anyone know where the aluminium ferrules with long 'tail' are supposed to be fitted? I'm in the process of building up a Basso Astra 2019 frame set and can't find out what size BB i need I think it's a BS86.5X41 I have tried contacting Basso directly but not very helpful can anyone shed any light on this. I'm fitting it with a Campag Chorus 12speed crank set
