Going away, I do one of the following:
- have a break from coffee
- drink instant with a lot of milk if I’m absolutely desperate after an early toddler wake
- go to the ok/good speciality shop that I’ve planned staying close to
- take my electric grinder and aeropress if I’m driving door to door to stay in a cottage or something
- have a break from coffee

My 4-month old Khaki mechanical has stopped winding; I went to wind it this morning and there was a little click and now it just spins. I’ve emailed Hamilton but wondered if there’s anything I can do before they reply, would rather not have to send it back and wait if it’s something I’m doing wrong.

As a very trendy third-waver having never been to Italy and had a 1€ espresso from a street corner, can someone explain to me how it can be good coffee? I’m guessing it’s super roasty with wide margin for error so doesn’t have to be particularly carefully prepared? Or is it more a sense of place/experience?

Hey a few of you helped a lot before, and I went for a Hamilton Field Mechanical. Thanks for the help! The only thing I really miss is the date, but it just wasn’t going to happen.
I’m now wondering how to wash the NATO strap as it has leather bits on it. Can I chuck it in the wash or do I need to do the old toothbrush and soapy water? -

Are you looking for quartz, mechanical, automatic? or dont really care?
Hadn’t thought about it! I do like the idea of not using a battery.
There are so many good suggestions above, I really like all of them, which is a growing problem.
I couldn’t find much on the Smiths Everest Expedition, real mixed search results and some were in the thousands.
