Lowdown was the best coffee I had there but in a very stark atmosphere if I remember rightly.
Fortitude was good coffee and much more welcoming, reminded me of 46b in Hackney. Really friendly.

My 4-month old Khaki mechanical has stopped winding; I went to wind it this morning and there was a little click and now it just spins. I’ve emailed Hamilton but wondered if there’s anything I can do before they reply, would rather not have to send it back and wait if it’s something I’m doing wrong.

Same, I pretty much relied on overseas artists coming through London. One of my regulars Flurick would’ve been great for big cat knees.
Totally out of touch with London artists so keen for suggestions too; a quick look at the big name shops doesn’t throw up many names I know anymore.

It always impresses me how much people want good coffee in difficult circumstances. Aeropress on a flight? Checking water temp for a V60 while camping? Just have a cup of tea!

As a very trendy third-waver having never been to Italy and had a 1€ espresso from a street corner, can someone explain to me how it can be good coffee? I’m guessing it’s super roasty with wide margin for error so doesn’t have to be particularly carefully prepared? Or is it more a sense of place/experience?

Hey a few of you helped a lot before, and I went for a Hamilton Field Mechanical. Thanks for the help! The only thing I really miss is the date, but it just wasn’t going to happen.
I’m now wondering how to wash the NATO strap as it has leather bits on it. Can I chuck it in the wash or do I need to do the old toothbrush and soapy water?
