I haven't used itunes/apple music for yeeeears because it was horrible, anti-intuitive and annoying.
Now trying to sort out putting some tunes from my old itunes library onto an ancient ipod for my kids. Am getting nowhere fast. My library has a gazillion tunes in it, but when I plug in the device, i'm only offered about a dozen artists and all of my old voice memos and various other self-generated shit like un-named rough mixes of old band tracks. There seems to be no option for extending what's on offer.
Is there an an easy way of dragging a selection of my full library onto an old device? This seems like it should be pretty basic but I admit to being totally foxed.

stealth edit
Watched it last night. Predictably right up my street. Couple of oddities for him though in that he recycled an old bit about a whole generation confusing political correctness with health and safety legislation (which is still funny) and that he breaks character a couple of times and says something genuinely affectionate about his audience. Love him madly.

I think I was hipped to this place by by my IRL buddy, @cornelius_blackfoot when I was looking at a new bike in late 2007. I joined in early 2008 having lurked for a few months needing tips to tinker with my then-new Genesis Flyer. I'd been riding BMX and geared in London since the 90s but only really got into to fixed through Corny and this place.
Just found my first post, which was on an "I miss the old forum" thread from March 2008. https://www.lfgss.com/comments/6012668/. Sage advice from 2008 me there.
I was more shy in those days and didn't join many rides or become a regular at any drinks although I did pop along to a few here and there, mainly at LMNH and many impromptu post-work drinks at The Blackfriar. I moved to South London in 2012 and spending some quality time at Le Reej with a few forum elders, most of whom have now moved on both IRL and from here.
Between 2008 and 2016 when I moved out of London LFGSS became a big part of life for me. It was actually a bit of a shock on leaving, to discover my well established identity of "Drunk cyclist who plays the guitar" was actually transitory. The forum continues to be a bit of a lifeline in this latest phase of life.
Despite the early reputation as being unfriendly, I've always found that this place something of an oasis from the cesspit of normal social media. It's hard to define but what some people see as snark and snobbishness, I always found to be a collection of people who were really into something to the extent that they felt comfortable having certain standards and opinions, an often being funny and self-aware while doing it. Virtue signalling and humblebragging is kept well in check in a way that it isn't in the free-for all of the normie netz. I think this place doesn't suffer fools as much as elsewhere and i've always found the tone to be refreshingly irreverent, but without being edgelordy, compared to other virtual hangs.
Vive la Lufugusus!*

@hippy any reason this and the other amp-fancier thread can’t be mergatronned?

It's been a super fun project. If I can fix the truss rod and finish fettling the nut, I think it's actually going to be bona-fide cool guitar. Acoustically it absolutely spanks my USA Tele's arse, and the pickups sound way better than they have any right to. It's light as a feather and the bat of a neck feels great. If I can get the set-up sorted I think i'll change out the electrics at some point.

The other disappointment is that in embiggening the cutout for the bridge block with the dremmel (the block was rubbing on the sides) I ended up changing the profile of the corners. In order to make it look neat and regular again, I took about 3 or 4 mm off the back of the cutout to straighten up the edge. I hadn't factored in that with the whole bridge moving about 5mm for structural integrity reasons, it ended up with a couple of mil air gap all along the back of the bridge. You can't really see from most angles but it is annoying.

Same here. Got quoted scary monies for proper varifocals a few places. I went with a “digital lens” from Cubitts, I’m a bit vague on the difference between this and the full varifocals… I think instead of a fully smooth transition across distance, medium and close, it’s basically a normal distance lens with a bit of your reading prescription at the bottom.
Was way cheaper than the alternative. Got me a pair of the digital lenses and pair of prescription sunnies for £400. Not sure how much different it is from the real deal but it’s certainly a big improvement from my old situation
