Shitty octalink cranks. Old mtb had been assembled almost dry, ridden in the wet and never cleaned. Stripped all the threads trying to pull the cranks, attempted to use a gear puller, which just left a huge dent in the drift.
Resorted to hacksaw and dremel.

No sorry, but you know you can just buy any broken campagnolo shifters and rip the shifting stuff out and you have the same thing?
I recommend doing it with the newer shape shifters, much comfier.

I don't think anyone makes bike tyres in the uk. France, Germany, Italy, Czech have a little bit. Most are made in China, Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand.

It sounds fantastic. I've only compared it to my old stuff that was significantly cheaper, moon lp3 and a little rega phono. So of course it should, and I got a very good price s/h. Being made here perreaux stuff is better value than stuff from overseas.
I've heard the big perreux integrateds a few times, and they are very good.

Loving this beast. There's a minor bit of ground hum with the low output cartridge that's not on my old lenco, so will need a service (and maybe a new arm/wiring) at some stage. Sounds bloody good though.
