It's very sad, I enjoyed his programs. I must admit I'm surprised that there isn't given a clear reason for his death, was it heat stroke? He set off for a 2 mile walk, took a wrong turn and ended up about about the same distance but outside of a beach resort. Did he fall and break something and not get found? He was found on the 4th day and it was said he's been dead for a few days by that point. It feels very quick. If he broke an ankle and sat there he was near a resort so could have shouted and should survive more than a day in the sun surely. So it must have been heat stroke, but why don't they say so.

On the topic of eggs/omelettes, a friend recently brought us back a tamagoyaki pan from Japan. It's a game changer. Obviously you can make the intended tamagoyaki but even just for scrambled eggs it's great. I think it's because it's small with high sides so you can mix it around easily without spilling and has enough surface area to cook evenly and it let's you fold the omelette without it spilling sideways. The main problem people make with eggs is using a pan that's too large, this solves that but there's also something about it that just makes really good eggs. I'd never have bought one myself but very glad we have it now.

We got a couple of these, they were pretty much the highest BTU/£ we could find for a vertical rad

V60 is ok faff wise...but if you just dump the coffee and water in it's going to be shit. Gotta rinse paper, gentle pour, swirl etc. Plus like you say, need scales
In theory yes, in reality these days I use a drip assist
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005491762858.html
Wash the paper, add the ground coffee, do a quick bloom, them put this on top and fill with water, top up once and wait. No faffing. And you need scales for an aeropress just as much as you do a v60. -
Starter pack is usually a v60. A lot of places literally do a starter kit with some coffee, the v60 and some filters
https://coffeebrothers.co.uk/product/v60-starter-pack/
https://blackbagcoffeeco.co.uk/products/v60-coffee-starter-kit-coffee-maker
https://fullbloomcoffee.co.uk/products/hario-v60-starter-kit-black
https://www.neighbourhoodcoffee.co.uk/product/v60-starter-pack/You'll need is a grinder if you're not buying pre-ground, but that's totally an option too.
E.g. https://www.ancoats-coffee.co.uk/store/coffee/single-origin/regional/If you do get a grinder a hand one is cheapest, the Hario one is perfectly fine
offeefriend.co.uk/p/manual-coffee-grinder-hario-mini-mill-slim-plus/
But you can always spend more for a better one
https://www.horshamcoffeeroaster.co.uk/products/rhinowares-tall-hand-grinderObviously an electric one is better. I'd say to avoid ones that have blades and are actually a spice grinder but tbh I used one for a while and it's passable if you're not a massive nerd.
https://www.vonhaus.com/vh_en/plastic-coffee-grinder?
A burr grinder is what you really want, there are some cheap-not-great ones and ones that go up to £thousands, but sticking with filter rather than espresso means you can get away with the cheaper end.
https://www.argos.co.uk/product/8727866
https://www.nichecoffee.co.uk/products/niche-zeroAlso you should get some cheap scales. A decent one doesn't need to be more than £20
https://caffeinegears.com/product/digital-kitchen-coffee-and-food-scale-with-timer-led-screen-usb-rechargeable/
But I just use some "jewellery" scales
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Digital-Kitchen-Jewellery-Weighing-ARIATI/dp/B0B2M47DT8/ref=asc_df_B0B2M47DT8/All that said, you could just use your Bialetti and either buy pre ground or grind your own
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfDLoIvb0w4
My recommendation would be a v60, as fancy a grinder as you want, and watch a Hoffman video on technique/recipe. Once you've got the weights and motions nailed it's under 5 mins to make a brew from scratch.

I don't really know the full liquidation process but I know a company should get appointed that will try and get back any money from debtors and selling equipment to pay any creditors (plus the massive liquidation company fee). I'd guess it depends on how well the company has tracked who has what equipment. If a liquidation company does get in touch I'd probably just return it because I don't know how likely they are to count it as outstanding debt and sell it to a collection company or if they'd just write it off.
