I think they just unscrewed one of the pulleys to open the tensioner in two and remove it from the chain.
I'm sorted already, I needed the bike over the weekend so 29 quid at Evans did the trick.. But yes, total bummer.
@Clockwise doubt it, this looked really neat as if they needed just that (also, bike was locked with two locks)

Thank you for the extensive tips! All noted.
Route amended (counterclockwise now) to go through Oudenaarde rather than Tournai before heading to Geraardsberger.
We will swing by Ghent at lunchtime as we'll spend the night in Brugges, so probably won't have chance to see most of the pubs you listed in the other thread.
On the way back to Lille we'll see how we are doing with times, we are meeting a friend for dinner in Lille, not sure we'll have chance to detour for breweries around Ypres, also, it will be Monday by then, so probably most are closed.

Too late, I've booked a place in Geraardsbergen, this is the current version of the route, having three days we are stopping in Geraardsbergen, Bruges and last night in Lille.
I might however change the first leg to skip Tournai, and do a more northern route across from Lille to Oudenaarde and then go south to Geraardsbergen after visitin the museum.
Also, where is this canal you are all taking pictures of?

Sorry, don't have a picture, but you can google plenty, for example.
I have the regular handlebar: https://www.apidura.com/product/handlebar-pack-regular/
And regular saddle bag: https://www.apidura.com/product/saddle-pack-regular/The saddle bag is perfect if you ask me.
The handlebar one not as much.
According to the length of you head tube and amount of spacers you might easily get it to rub on the tire (that's why I lock the buckles over the handlebar, to keep it higher). Laterally you can adjust it significantly, it's roll top both sides, so the width of it adjusts to what you put inside and how much you can compress it. You will have to sacrifice some capacity to save room for the shifters movement. It's a bag developed for flat MTB bars. If you use it with road drops you only use it to say 40% of its capacity.
Also, according to your cable routing around the handlebar, it might compress/bend slightly your cable arrangement and affect bike performance (extra tension in the shifting/breaking cables)

Final routes here:

Almost 95% ok, only things to change are:
- Didn't find a trail between Newbridge and Frogwell west of Callington, had to reroute on A road through Bicton
- Sketchy and slippery steep climb before Trebarwith
- Sick climb on church Hill after Port Isaac
- Don't follow the coast path east of Polperro there is a diversion, we had to push bikes for 400m uphill and lift them over fence
- Didn't find a trail between Newbridge and Frogwell west of Callington, had to reroute on A road through Bicton

Yeah, sure, but he comes across like a dick. Doesn't seem an interesting person. He'll probably skip the party, since as he would say "every time you party, you're not cycling.. You know"
He'd be a better fit with the pros in the tdf

Is today the day @skinny smashes it and gets to second place?
Can't understand from the phone if he rested, seems it took him a lot to do the parkour over night.
On other news, can Allagaert finish today? Would that be a sort of PB?

I was thinking the same.. although for the time being I believe is safe to say fifth.
If the won't let Carlos and Neil out of Montenegro that might delay them and favour @skinny and then there is only Peter Sandholt between him and the 2nd place.
Only concern is, what about resting?
Nice! Can you share the route?
