I had just peeled of Trafalgar Sq roundabout at about warp 9 heading towards Haymarket as I do every morning, but on this occasion I failed to dodge the wet road metal in front of me. It snatched my front wheel out and I was on the floor within a split second. I slid 15 yards on my knee and hand Moto GP style.

I've been doing a commute which takes me over E&C roundabout twice a week day for about 6 months straight now. I've been varying my exit lanes as well and I've never had an incident with a motorist or felt at danger in any way.

I remember being told the same thing about E&C when I first started cycling but I really don't get what the fuss is about. I think it had some work done to it a while back which sorted out a lot of potential lane confusion but it's still got a bad rep.

There are a lot of lanes, so if you're new to navigating it, a map check before hand is a good idea before you hit it so you don't get any surprises.

The only other thing I'd say is watch how hot you come on or off the roundabout because at all exits/entry's bar one are packed full of bus stops and people are sprinting out in front of relatively quickly moving traffic all of the time, so eyes peeled.

I did Oxford St and Regent St on an evening rush hour once. I genuinely don't think I could be paid to cycle those roads at that time again.

And The Strand, fuck The Strand. Oh and outside Waterloo station at rush hour, fuck that to.

It's a Bianchi Pista, it's nothing special but it's got sentimental value to me, I've got other projects on the go but this has to see me to and from work for the next two weeks until one of them is done.

Seatpost length should be fine, its a nitto 65 300mil and the frame is my size so insert amount is normal.

I'm going to take it to my lbs and get a frame square on it, depending on how far out it is I'll try and make tonight.

Found a bit of a problem with my steed and I don't have anything else built yet :(

^ This. SW1 to SE14 was chaos at rush hour, traffic had backed up to a standstill over Bricklayers Arms overpass, I've never seen that happen before.

E&C to New X Rd was full of glass and shattered plastic where there had been about a million bumper to bumper shunts because because of the madness.
