a 3.5mm wide bearing ? mmm
this exists to fit 1 1/4 steerers in regular regular top bearing cups ( giant canyon etc. ), but are 4.5mm i think.if you're going to not use the bike much ( sacrilege obv ), then spend loads on enve 1 1/4 forks :) and spend more loads on painting them

@mattyc has di2 derailleurs i think ?

my hunch too, but now i am not so sure !
https://www.westbrookcycles.co.uk/1_18_to_1.5_headset_for_superx_2017-11419there are a number of 1 1/4 forks to chsoe from, a road one for starters ( synapse, caad, enve !, giant, etc. would be better suited to a caad track due to similar tyre clearance )

I think the synapse crown race is removable, judging from the pics, but i am not sure it clears 33mm as it comes from an older "sagan era" road synapse. if they do it would be tight and not suited to mud, imo.
sorry about the brake ! i need to get hold of it and will pM. I don't need gravel forks sadly.

one might be able to use a reducer to put 1 1/4 into a 1 1/2 headtube, i'll let @Engineering101 consider it first, those forks are light solid and cheap

isen workshop would have been an option :)
that mason Ti is probably ticks all boxes, but not economical ( plus their forks are pretty unremarkable on a bike of this price) .
If i needed a supercommuter/winter trainer type frame, not sure what' i'd do, maybe, i'd look at he best steel possible ? ( isen used 853 steel for instance ).
fantastic build @Phildas and a good break from this posh crux chat
is this the medium that was for sale on here ?
