Sounds nice that does! Theres a concorde at uni that someone ruined. Turned it from geared to single speed, but it has one of those awful tensioners.

I found this goes away after about a month or so of use, that was the case for me anyway, on any uneven surfaces (cobblestone etc) it still does it though, haven't had any problems with clipping in or out though, learn to love the noise I guess

Now having 3 bikes I need a bike rack! I plan on making something similar to the stolmen ikea bike rack hack. I'm on my phone so I'll link later, but it's basically an extendable pole that will put pressure on the floor and ceiling. If anyone knows any shops in Norwich (or surroundings give or take a few miles) that might have this sort of thing let me know! I don't want to pay £39 delivery from ikea for something that will only cost £20!

Back home for the Christmas period, first ride on new road bike to girlfriends. Plastic cage and pedal and trainers, fighting a headwind the whole way. I think I could have walked faster.

Can't wait to get some spd's/road pedals on it.

Any cheapish solution for a stand/rack that I can have in my uni accommodation? I have 1 bike in the shed/garage and keep my two nice bikes in my room. Would ideally like to have them on a stand to reduce room, i can't drill walls so it needs to have some sort of support.

Yeah i got the caad8 sora, black and charcoal. I'll snap a picture at some point, but it's the bog standard one from evans! Gonna change the pedals to some SPD's and possibly put on a rolls

Anyone got any pics of a San Marco rolls on their/someone else's bike? It's my go to comfy saddle, but I don't think it would suit the frame.

I too just joined the Cannondale club, my first road bike, my first cannondale. I got a relatively basic CAAD8 Sora in 54cm. I can't wait to ride it. Soon as this snow gets a move on and clears off i'll be out riding. Thats for sure. Shame i didn't bring my shoes back home for the holidays. I guess trainers and cheap cages it is!

With this being my first road bike, are there any essential things i should buy? Gears and brakes are a mystery to me. What sort of maintenance do they need?
