There was a female rider down on Vauxhall Street near Oval at about 8.30am today. A police car and ambulance were there, both with blue lights on.
I didn’t realise it was an accident at first and then didn’t want to rubberneck as I went past, but I did see a female cyclist sitting down and being attended to. She was conscious so hopefully isn't badly hurt. Rest up rider. -

I'm selling a beautiful 100m Cinelli A1 quill stem. Clamp diameter is 26mm.
I bought it new last month for £50 and I'm selling because it is 1cm too long for me. I didn't pay enough attention when I was ordering it.
I have used this stem for about ten miles of riding then removed it to install a shorter one. Therefore it is pretty much perfect except for a small insertion mark that I have tried to show in the pictures below.
I'd like £30 for it. I'd rather not post but can arrange pickup/delivery if you're in London.
Any questions, fire away.

Possibly not much help to you right now, but I have a complete gruppo (except the headset) but the only snag is I'm still using it while I save up for some shiny campag.
It's not been used much and is very decent stuff, performs well, looks nice etc. I only want to get rid of if because it's on an Italian steel bike.
I plan on upgrading later in the year, so if you are still looking in September/October, give me a shout. -
Hi all.
I’m selling these early 80s 165mm Gipiemme Special Pista cranks for £40. I bought these from Thrasher (of this parish) some time ago and meant to put them on a classy old frame, but I’ve never used them.
BCD is 144.
They are in generally good condition, but there is some shoe scuffing and scratching, more so on the non-driveside crank.
The square tapering is in good condition – tried to show this too.
I have the original crank bolts if you want them.
I don’t really want to post this but can arrange delivery/pickup if you’re in London. Let me know if you’re interested or have any more questions. Thanks!

I think it's populist posturing by Osborne.
He is inferring (to those that don't know better) that he is making a big investment in new roads. Most people don't realise that the total pool of VED isn't enough to do this and that roads are largely subsidised by non-motoring taxes.
So he gets to stand up and basically say 'look at us caring about roads and motorists' and the ignorant of that number will say 'that's great, I like roads, nice one Tories'. But nothing really changes.

Perhaps it isn't Aelle, but it could be made of something lighter than 531 y'know.
I've got a 1980s Gazelle Champ Mondiale made of 531 that weighs exactly 2.7kg for the frame and forks. The frame is the same size as this one (my TT is 1cm longer, but I doubt that'll account for the 200g difference).
Maybe it's just a different batch or something #steelnoob

It's on Vice now too. They took the time to do a decent nuanced piece, too.

It smacks of the all-too-common attitude that cyclists should know their place and not go on the road where they interrupt all those super-important motor vehicles.
However.
Aren’t cyclists’ (and pedestrians’) rights to use the road enshrined in the Road Traffic Act? The same bit of legislation that says car drivers can only use the road by licence? I don’t see how Boris/TFL can make cycle lane use compulsory without tackling that.

Had a black cab give me a very close punishment pass and horn honk when going southbound over Blackfriars Bridge. I think my 'crime' was to be in the bus lane, not the shoddy bike lane. There was another empty lane to his right that he could have used, but hey. I gave him a big cheery sarky wave but did not swear, gesticulate or question his mothers' morals as I am giving zen cycling a go.

I’ve just listened to that show. It was more balanced than I thought it would be.
Chris Boardman was on early as the main guest, and was (as ever) the voice of calm reason. He replied to the usual anticycling comments well.
There was some sensible discussion of things like Bikeability, police enforcing existing traffic rules properly and not being a knob regardless of your choice of transportation.
Overall, fortunately, a lot of the anticycling comments sounded illogical.

It's very OTT of the BBC to do this.
The hit-and-run incident with the child being hit by the pavement cyclist is sad and shouldn't have happened (though the cyclist looks like a scared kid himself).
But there are 80 hit-and-runs a week involving motor vehicles in London alone and I don't see the BBC doing any programmes about that.

Hi all.
I need a 24mm diameter seatpost, to fit an old Peugeot. My current seatpost is not tall enough and so my saddle is too low. I need a seatpost that has 20cm or so between the limit mark and saddle rails. Not holding out much hope here, as I know these are rare, but if anyone has one I'll pay good money.
Thanks. -

I'm selling:
1) A Selle Rolls saddle, very good condition. Barely used, small scuff on the back of the saddle that I've tried to show in the pics in the link below. £20 DIBS'D BY MANWOLF
2) Cinelli Campione del Monde bars, very good condition, no scratches. 40cm wide, 26.4mm clamp. Beautiful. £15 DIBS'D by badlydrawnboy
3) 3TTT Super Competizione bars, 42cm wide, 25.4mm clamp. £5 because a mechanic that should have known better scratched them.
Pics are here: http://s163.photobucket.com/user/sbarker871rbgf99/library/Saddle%20and%20bars?sort=3&page=1
I don't really want to post, but if you're in London I can deliver them or similar. Contact Sam on 07596706623.
