Love that frame.
48x15 or 49x15 is the norm for most riders endurance training at Manchester.
You will need to stick between 84-88 GI when doing any accreditation or training sessions. As @umop3pisdn says, learn to spin if you are used to turning big gears.

Pete... I've got a very similar frame to the Croix in 931 and have had it for a good few years now. I have had it both with carbon and currently on steel forks. It weighs a lot as a complete bike, but stripped to the frame it's very light.
I don't think I would change it for anything, rides really well. Is much stiffer than a titanium frame. Wipes clean. And generally a do it all bike. The clearance on the Croix for bigger tyres is a bonus in my opinion. Only 1 thing to consider is that like mine it might have quite a high BB. I wouldn't mind mine being a bit lower - but that might be remedied by 650b...
I would say the one in classifieds is a good buy...

Any idea how a 700x28 compares to going for 650b with either Soma Xpress or something Compass @edscoble
I have mudguards fitted pretty much perfectly at the moment, but no room to go any bigger tyre wise on my current frame than with the 28mm with guards as below...

Half expected that Makino to find its way on here! @Lukas thought I'd sold mine. Such nice frames and paint.
Bargain buy, nearly got it as a hack-twin for my track bike.

Thinking of a cheap daily Pomp build...
I run a 765mm seat height but am very much T-rex geo. Both my track bikes at 58.5 c to top with 55 top tubes.
Track bike for idea on size https://flic.kr/p/v2HWqxDo we think an XL frame with zero stack and flat bars would be right? Thinking with a 100mm stem but worried I won't have 'enough' seat post showing.
Other option is a L frame but I didn't really want a spacer stack the height of Big Ben...

You get what you pay for on there, but if you do pay there are some absolutely beautifully made frames.
No issues last year with my Makino - shipped with a few other parts. Great communication from Gabriel. Worth emailing if you are looking for something specific - they sometimes have stock awaiting listing.

@TRA 57c to top and 58 c to c top tube...

Tony Butterworths was a shop in Sheffield... back in the day I think some of the frames miiiight have been made by him - I will check with some friends when I am next back over the hills there.
I do know for sure that some he sold were definitely gas pipe flyers, but others were pretty decent Italian imported frames rebranded. A clue may be the threads on yours if you whip that BB out.
All in all not the most reputable of characters for his frames. But a very decent shop owner/manager back in the day...
