I've recently moved to the Middle East, and every Wednesday night a local race track allows people of all abilities to do laps for a few hours on their bike. It's jam packed full of people on pig-ugly Cervelo tri bikes all being very serious.
However, last week, I nearly fell off laughing when they all (and myself) somehow got overtaken by a guy on an absolute rat of a 90s mountain bike...with full tread tyres...and tri bars! Not sure why posting in here, but I immediately thought of this thread. Will get pictures next week. I'm not sure if the guy's greatness cancels out the anti?
It was truly delicious seeing the absolute seethe on the faces of the Tri folk on their expensive bikes.

Wheels and tyres have always been a simple thing for me: Buy campag wheels, fit 23c tyres, ride.
However, I'm looking at getting some Farsport and it seems I have some options on the rims: 23mm or 25mm. I've also heard murmurings over the last few years about 25c actually being faster/more comfortable, so I might give some a go.
Is it as simple as 23mm rims will fit 23c tyres and above? I will need 25mm rims for 25c tyres? If not, what are the advantages/disadvantages of 23mm/25mm?
Also, they appear to have thrown some U shape/V shape nonsense into the mixer. Whats the general consensus on this?!

So...I've moved abroad and gf is still in London for now. Yesterday she managed to lose the keys to her Kryptonite D-Lock. It was keeping her lovely Chas Roberts locked to the rack outside of her work.
She assumed she had spares at home so left the bike locked up outside overnight near Central (not good) but it turns out her spares are for the wrong lock!
Any advice for solving this? Guessing she doesn't have any bolt cutters kicking around...and even if she did, how can she prevent herself from getting arrested?!

Hoping somebody can help.
I'm down near bow for the weekend, and need a new set of cables and a chain adding to my new weight weenie as I would love an Essex ride tomorrow. Unfortunately, I have no time to do it myself, and I am too busy to collect it this afternoon. So need somewhere I can collect tomorrow am. Google tells me Paradise cycles are close. Thoughts on them and any other suggestions?
Cheers

Hi all,
I am selling my final item before hotfooting it out of the country. It's a Verenti Rhigos.01, which was made by/for Wiggle. I've been riding it in it's current form as seen below and it's very comfortable due to some upright geo, yet still bloody stiff (guess the lugs help?) It's in pretty lovely condition, the only minor negative is a little cable rub. Afraid I couldn't clean it properly before taking pics!
Here is a review of the lower model, the Rhigos.03, and also the original Wiggle listing:

http://www.wiggle.co.uk/verenti-rhigos01/Afraid I don't know the weight of F&F, but the whole build as pictured comes in at 6.9kg if that helps. I will include the headset which is lovely and smooth, and also the seat clamp. Think this is a nice deal for a full carbon F&F?
£160>>£130 delivered
