I'm looking for a bit of advice from other Pompino owners as to procuring a new fork. I got my pompino frame off a mate after my bike was stolen, and he had already bought a bontrager carbon fork (no idea anything else about it, just what's written on it!) to go with it. However I'm not the biggest fan of the white frame, and I've already scratched it to shit because that's what I'm like.
I'm looking to get a steel fork to go with the frame instead so I can get it powdercoated and not worry about bouncing it about (I've got what I'm pretty sure is just a big scratch on the fork, but I'm also slightly terrified it's a crack and the thing is just going to shatter on me one day), but having never really bought a fork by itself before I'm pretty wary about making stupid choices ¬_¬
I'd like something with a decent amount of clearance to fit a front mudguard for winter (or at least have the option), and maybe bigger tyres at some point (I've got velocity chukker rims right now, but from the look of the carbon fork I probably couldn't get anything much bigger than the current 23c's on it, maybe 25 max? Haven't actually tried but it seems tight...). Got canti brakes on the current one, but not averse to swapping.
tl;dr - Steel fork for pompino recommendations?

I have now had a slow puncture / damaged valve for about three weeks. Despite changing the tube taking much less time, I continue to refuse to do so and pump my tyres up every time before going anywhere. This usually means I pump my tyres three or four times a day.
This is likely to go on indefinitely until it suffers any fate which results in more rapid deflation.
So. Lazy.

What is your main commuting outfit (eg. oldest clothes available, rolled up jeans, suit, lycra/ club kit)
Whatever I'm wearing to work. Only a three mile commute. In fact whatever I'm wearing is pretty much what I wear on the bike all the time. I've decided 100km is my minimum requirement for any kind of lycra.
My wardrobe is pretty much entirely shorts/skirts/tights and skinny jeans, so everything is reasonanbly suitable for cycling and mostly already oil-stained anyway.
What are the measures you have take for safety/ comfort (eg. helmet, lights, reflectives, mudguards, toe warmers)
Lights, mudguards. Watching people like a hawk. Avoiding idiots. General no nonsensery.
How do you amuse/ occupy yourself on your commute (music, imaginary conversations, provoking other road users etc)
Music music music. Always music. I will make myself late for work waiting for my mp3 player to charge rather than ride without tunes.

I am pefectly happy to do whatever. Ladies do Wests could be interesting, and I've thrown myself back into RIDING EVERYWHERE since I got back from hols and properly on teh steed again so a spin out west might be nice, however I do appreciate it's not convenient for all and not everyone has the next day off....

It seems no foul deed goes unrewarded

Emma Way refused to comment as she left court, saying she had signed an exclusive TV deal.Bet it's a lovely programme focusing on how this poor young girl was victimised by the press over a little mistake and a 'silly tweet', and how cyclists are ruining our roads and intimidating drivers...
That sliiiiiiiiiiiiiide!
