I have been into dubstep since the early years. I started listening to J Da Flex's underground knowledge and he was playing some early DMZ stuff (although they maintain their music was not labelled as dubstep). I think Loefah's Horror Show was the tune that got me really addicted to the whole sub-bass sound.

I am fortunate enough to own DMZ001 to DMZ014, those boys have put out some incredibly good music.

I think dubstep now is very different to how it sounded back then in the embryonic days.

The tune that started it all for me (you have to listen with speakers that can handle the sub other wise you miss a whole dimension to the tune)

Just stumbled across this tune in a circus warp mix, it was an absolute anthem during the summer of 92 and featured the unique style of spiral Tribe's MC scallywag.

@EB I have a few more from that DIY party, we went to it and they sold the tapes in Soul Survival Records in Bath the following weeks. The party was amazing from what I can remember. We originally set off to London to try to find the spiral tribe party but the fog was so bad we turned around.

This was pretty fucked up as well. I bought it on DVD about 5 years ago but still could not make any sense of it, I reckon you needed to be on acid to 'get it'.

One big issue with the kits is the plastic/screw combo. The abs has a tendency to crack in places when using the self-tapping screws (not to mention that they are JIS screws and not phillips/posi).

To avoid it I’ve bought hex head screws and I'm tapping every hole. #tapthat #nthdegree
