Personally, I would do the easy option first and live with it for a bit. Loads of things you think will piss you off in a house are actually fine once you get used to it.
If you like it then you'll save your self a load of money and hassle refitting a whole kitchen and if you don't it's a relatively inexpensive way to find out.

Erm OK, how about the compromise that looks the least shit?
At this point I'd be sending a text that I'm not paying you to fix your own mistakes and I'll be using you rest of the money outstanding to get someone to fix it.
I've got such a low tolerance threshold for trades since we did our last place, they're all a bunch of cunts.

Overall I'm really happy with mine for the price. If I were to lose it tomorrow I'd buy another without thinking about it. It's works better than others I have used that cost several times the price.
Couldn't be arsed to send it back with so much nonsense to sort out before the holidays. Started using it when I got back from Christmas family fun and it works great.
Lid rattles a tiny bit when it hits boiling point but it doesn't rattle at all whilst I'm pouring so it's turned out to be a none issue. Cheers.

That wasn't meant to be a knock on Caol Ila btw, it's a lovely malt, but the fact that it's mostly used in diageo's blends means there's not tons of variety coming directly from the distillery. The good news is that it's one of the rare few islay malts that's offered out to lots of independent bottlers so there's lots of interesting bottles to discover.
Happy new year, just finishing this one off.

There's no rejoining in the next decade, politically it's too much of a shit storm on both sides, if things being reported are true and Labour are working on a EU alignment behind the scenes then that's probably the only way back.
Alignment followed by rejoining the common market then back in the EU when everyone realises there's no point in not being in anymore.
A proper British slow bumbling way to change.

Somehow I seem to have never crossed paths with Aram irl or on here but clearly he was a wonderful person and to have ubiquitous love on London's friendliest forum is pretty much unheard of.
When I first read the post a couple of days ago it was heartbreaking but to see things develop so quickly is awful.
My heart goes out to his family, no words on here are going to soften the pain but I hope they can take some comfort from what a big place Aram has in a lot of people's heart.

so got a cheap hygrometer from Amazon, which matches the Meaco to within 1%.
Those cheap hygrometers can be wildly off, I've had some 10-15% off so you need to calibrate them but it's pretty simple to do.
Put a teaspoon of salt in a bottle cap, add a few drops of water so it turns into a paste, put the lid and the hygrometer in a ziploc bag and leave it over night. The reading should be 75% so if your hygrometer is showing 72 then you know how far off it is, you can't normally change the reading on the cheap ones so you'll just have to remember to subtract or add to what ever it shows.
You can then use the cheap hygrometer to calibrate your other ones.

Americanisms.
Nah, been popular way before any American influence. It's just a massive bird looks impressive when you bring it out, they're way easier to rear than geese as well.
Agree that it's fucking shit though, I've never served it for Christmas dinner, also spent the last 15 chrimbos in France so it's thankfully never an option.

No one's choosing to fight Zhang unless it's a mandatory defense or there's no other way to get to number one contender. There's just too much risk and no upside. He's interim wbo champ but not even ranked for the other belts.
Dubois might have a go to jump up the contender list but I wouldn't fancy his chances.

Fair do's it seemed like you'd just moved in and were going to just rip out a tidy looking kitchen. But if you've been living there that long then I understand.
If you're going to refit the whole kitchen and you're not going to have any high cupboards anyway I'd open it up like that, it looks way nicer and will feel so much bigger. Although, I've no idea how you can live with so little cupboard space. I cannot do minimal living!
