I've been following Cycling UK's legal efforts for a judicial review of West Sussex Council's decision to remove "pop up" cycle infrastructure on Upper Shoreham Road.
After some initial bad news, its good to hear some progress on this from CUK:

Chrome "MXD notch" sling bag for sale
Used but well cared for. Not a lot of use.
Pros - durable materials, well made, lots of different compartments
Cons - not waterproof, too many compartments (?!)One in one out on bags from now on... and i have similar topo bag that suits me and my stuff better - i find the topo more cavernous for bulkier things and a water bottle.

Sad to hear this for Ealing. I understand the new leader of ealing council has had a senior role at commonplace (he may still do). He has said all other LTNs will go to a CPZ style referendum. It will be interesting to see what happens. Needless to say, I think this is the wrong way of doing it.
As always, credit to hackney, camden, islington for sticking with LTNs, as well as others like lambeth where I assume we can expect even more with their recent leadership change.

I've just joined the cargo bike club with a decently priced second hand workcycles fr8. Cycled my brompton to pick up the new bike, and it handled nicely on the way home with my brompton tied on the back. Looking forward to riding around with more heavy stuff, passengers and convincing my dog to get in a large box on the front.
Looking for a service and some replacement parts/accessories. I think Bikefix is a workcycles dealer.
Any other recommendations for a lbs out there to get parts or accessories?

Cheers, yes, that's a good idea.
I've heard enough stories from some disabled people to fear the experience of trying to board a train with a non standard bike. I assume most cargo bikes like the bullitt will be a non-starter (either in policy itself or in the way train staff choose to implement their policy).
the omnium mini seems like the obvious choice but I think is too small for my needs; the mini max seems like a sensible choice for selected infrequent train travel - looks a bit like a normal bike, shorter than a tandem and if someone decides its width is a problem, its rack could be grudgingly removed.

Does anyone have any experience of taking cargo bikes on (UK) trains?
I guess this is generally bloody difficult i.e. generally not permitted, but having seen that video of the bloke and his dog on king alfred way, i'm considering a cargo bike for me and my dog and wondering if its possible to take one on a train for weekend getaways etc. I guess they are considered as being like tandems in restrictions: https://www.atob.org.uk/uk-bike-rail-restrictions/
I figure its less of a problem the shorter and less bulky the cargo bike is, e.g. omnium mini max better than omniums regular cargo size bike, etc
Any experience on this? Should i stick to the forum dog thread?!

Sorry to hear this. Hope the physio goes well.
I had a crash almost three years ago in Whitechapel, and as a result ended up with a dynamic hip screw, so a slightly different outcome for me. Extremely positive praise for the team at the Royal London. I wasn't weight bearing for 3 months, so there was lots of work to do to get back to health.
I was cycling before i was properly walking. Your revovery will be different I think. I enjoyed switching my cycling to a more chilled out ride mtb style while recovering.

Some of my cycling and driving neighbours here in Islington were more sceptical than me of our local LTN til it went in (summer 2020) and settled down after 1-3 months. They generally got used to it and enjoyed the benefits over its cons.
Its good to see commonplace being used and the council engaging with you and the community. Of course, the devil is in the detail on these schemes as has been said before, engineers are experts at technical stuff, but local people are experts in how their low public spaces work (or don't work).
LTNs are one tool to better manage motorised traffic and enable walking and cycling, and shouldn't be seen as the start or end point.

Please reply to the consultation if you or your family have enjoyed better walking and cycling east of Angel, on Danbury Street, Wharf Road, Prebend St, Quietway 2, etc since the trial started in summer 2020.
Almost all local people I speak to enjoy the new changes, but few appreciate the impact of the small but organised groups against LTNs, and the need to push back on the anti's and tell councillors to keep going.
Every response helps - it is islington's "first" LTN which they are consulting on after a year of people experiencing it. It would be good to get an overwhelmingly positive response to the trial.
The scale of the challenge to improve air quality, reduce car traffic and reduce road danger was in full view during council-organised consultation events. I attended one event at the weekend and had a chat with local officers to show our support; the Cabinet Member for transport was also there and getting absolutely mobbed by a (small) handful of (very) loud anti's - taxi lobby etc. They were shouting, bullying, and intimidating local people who have positive views of the LTN. Police / support officers attended to de-escalate.
Hats off to councillors in Islington and Hackney and elsewhere working towards the right things. Really unpleasant people are against LTNs. No wonder some councils don't have the resilience to keep LTNs in place. It takes commitment and whole lot of energy to see these things through.
