Try Vegusto or Vegourmet. I haven't tried the latter, but others have said that it's very tasty. Vegusto certainly is, but is also pricey. In London, it's now stocked by quite a few health food shops. Also Vx in King's Cross.
vegan cheese is never going to be a true simulacrum for dairy cheese so once people stop bitching about how it "doesn't taste like x/y/z" that they want it to and accept it for what is it, it becomes a totally different and delicious world. i was creeped out by nutritional yeast looking like fish food for a long time before i just got over it and now i eat it straight from the tin. i'm addicted to it. it's magical.
without any shadow of a doubt this is my favourite vegan cheese:
you can get it in VX which oliver kindly linked above. bruce those recipes look brilliant, thank you for them -
^ obligatory #datass comment (sorry i don't even know whose it is)

has anyone seen "earthlings" narrated by joaquin phoenix? even as a vegan i can't watch it all the way through, i did it once but couldn't ever do it again. and as strongly as i feel about veganism i can't bring myself to make my non-vegan friends or family watch it, it's horrendous (and obviously all true)
french toast recipe
1 block firm silken tofu
1 banana
2-3 tblsp maple syrup
cinnamon to taste
blend together until liquid
melt lots of butter in a pan
spread mix onto each side of bread and fry until crispy
garnish w/ whatever (i went for fruit, caremlised banana, dusting of icing sugar)
also warning, it makes an absolute buttload of french toast -

i'd be happy to try my route out, bannon very kindly mapped it out for me. it's about 15miles but there are like... at least 10 stops. could obvs make these co-incide nicely with beer stops and i can tell you fun facts about where we've stopped.
maybe next sat? bannon and i will try it out this week.
i'm entirely happy just to ride anywhere though for the next one if there's no consensus/i haven't got my shit together by then>^.^<

yo redviking co-op donuts (jam and custard) and apple pies are vegan. not a lot of cakes are because milk is cheap
obvs things like jammy dodgers (not the mini ones though) and oreos are vegan too but in terms of baked goods you're not going to find loads in the supermarkets. always worth a check though. that moment when you double scan an ingredients list and want to high five the shopper next to you is worth it (idgaf if this is sad)

i've missed no and perspex flesh play so many times in london! fail
throats have been one of my enduring favourite bands, i don't think i'll ever get tired of their self titled lp

what shows are people excited about going to soon? i know the people who post in this thread are nearly all into slightly different currents of punk/hardcore/etc but on the offchance something comes up that someone else didn't know about etc
