As I run Vs on my Pomp, I'm looking at the currently-unused flying cable stop on the back and wondering if I can somehow turn it into a light mount?
Anyone ever mounted a rear light there?Ok, so I did a little sketch; I'd need
- a short piece of thin threaded bar that would fit through the existing cable stop hole
- two or more nuts for the threaded bar (shown here in orange)
- a short piece of flat steel, twisted through 90 degrees halfway along and drilled once at each end (shown here in pink)
- an old CatEye mount to bastardise (shown here in chartreuse)
- some washers
EDIT : Already realised I could use a bolt in place of the threaded bar, if I can find one.

No I didn't, I was referring to other brands. I know Apple mice / trackpad have right click, they alwasy have... but you have to set that up, no? As in it's not like this straight out of the box?
True, but it's so easy as to be a non-issue on your own machine.
Magic Mouse rules as far as I'm concerned, being both left-handed and a Wacom tablet user - I use my mouse in my right hand, and continue to do so when using the tablet stylus with my left - swiping to navigate around an image whilst using brushes and whatnot is invaluable. Perfect retouching/editing combo.

Full carbon clincher - admittedly not cutting edge tech but tried and tested.
Tried, tested, hotly debated. Read this.

My bike weighed in at 65lbs. i was and am exhausted.
Now i will try to cut many many many lbs off this."

It's just exclusive innit? Like goonz said.
It's like when I went into Liberty just to see what was inside and staff followed me around the shop. I did look different to everyone else in there. But still.
I have a job you know.Funnily enough, the people that spend the most money in Liberty have never worked a day in their lives.
As for Rapha, the NYC store probably gets the most $ from guys in suits, indulging themselves on a lunch break. Still, the staff are perfectly pleasant to heathen like me that give them a ~$1000 LeMond (Trek) to hang up.
Reading about 'negative retail experiences' in this thread is akin to reading Yelp reviews of stores like Dover Street Market or Acne, "Holy shit this place is EXPENSIVE! I went here to get a simple white t-shirt for my boyfriend/daughter/etc and it was like £300 WTF these people are INSANE!!!!!!!"
Rapha is a high-end modern fashion brand. There's tech there, sure, but aesthetics and perceived ethics come before absolute performance imo. If their kit seems everyday to you, then I congratulate you on your six-figure salary. I really do hope you have the time to appreciate a different £200+ jacket for every single weather condition.
For the rest of us, it is really nice, but damn pricey. Not unobtainable or unaffordable, just expensive. -
Seemingly cheap Colnago
Is this a fake?

I know there's the odd '80s Benz fan here, so....

I think Hope hubs are nice kit- I own some, and like them.
The CK equivalent of the Hope's I have are £650. That's a months rent. They're so hugely expensive I never, ever considered them as being worth the money.
Are they £400 better than the Hope hubs I have?Probably not - UK market forces at work there though, a pair of R45/R45Ds is ~$600 USD here.
I guess my point was that CK are a serious engineering concern, and have been for a very long time. No fluff, no hype, they just make great stuff that they can proudly stand behind. I'd say the same about Thomson, Paul, Royce, and a good few others.
With regards to Hope, I assume their hubs are the same awesomeness they've always been (I've had some, loved them). No idea about the other stuff they make. -
Without being exposed to them in real life they simply seemed to be more pricey bike jewellery bought due to the price and exclusivity.
Coffee stop bling.
Everyone says that their engineering is without parallel- so it just washes over you as standard marketing drivel.Seriously? What do you think of Hope hubs? Or Middleburn cranks?
Rather than 'bling', I've seen each of them as pretty much 'the all-round best' ever since they came to market. CK headsets were a must-have on most nice MTB builds in the '90s, and even then the absolute quality of them overshadowed their aesthetics - their rep has stayed rock-solid ever since, imo.
No marketing needed really, just talk to any shop mechanic that works with the stuff - it's fit-and-forget, unless you're a weight-weenie. -
I had a play with the King hubs at Bespoked- they had versions with a portion of the hub machined away so you could see what was going on inside.
For the first time I actually quite wanted some, seeing the quality of the workmanship and the thought that had gone into them. This, along with a comment from another member (rogan, perhaps?) expressing their surprise at how very nice the Cielo framesets were irl, slightly confuses me.
At what point have Chris King Precision Components ever produced anything that wasn't brilliant?
I mean, I know Brits like to rag on US components a bit (Paul and Thomson esp) but you've got to hand it to CK - they've been doing what they do, near-faultlessly, for decades. -

^This. Teach a man to fish and all that. It's very, very easy.
