here in the states we are coping with coldest winter i've ever witnessed. talking -20c during the day towards the north and even alabama is getting snow.
the other day on the way to work it was -30c.
no wind chill.
breaking century old records.

anyway some version of rooted pure AOSP is the way to go. personally using this:

but again when i'm on stock I still push the google images manually and i really can't understand why this technique isn't automated for the average user rather than using OTA updates.

i know this is fairly aggressive from a user standpoint and so i understand why everyone doesn't do this... but I REALLY don't understand why manufacturers don't implement a one click USB update via computer which wipes the phone clean, pushes an update as a single install and then replaces photos and settings. When i do it manually it takes 15 minutes start to finish.
OTA updates are ridiculous.

Saw Inside Llewellyn Davis yesterday. I enjoyed the understated tone, the focus on the less Glam side of the 60s folk revival where more people failed than succeeded. The element of luck and circumstance that nurtured a Dylan and damned a Davis.
(My gf found it too bleak)Loved the music and the usual Coen bros vignettes
honestly screw the coen brothers.
lewbowski and no country for old men were the only movies deserving of all the attention they get.

We watched The Secret Life of Walter Mitty last night... Frustrated-magazine-picture-editor-given-to-flights-of-the-imagination-rom-com... With Ben Stiller in it... Great fun... 7.5/10

Agreed. It's making out it's an action movie with depth, but it doesn't have any, so becomes not as good as a dumb action movie which doesn't try to be anything but.
Notable good dumb action movies from this year: GI Joe 2, FF6, Expendables 2 and RED 2.
