That was fucking mental. Never seen such a fast start (and middle, and end) on that kinda event. Spent the entire ride hopping from one train to another, and absolutely empty now. On the flip side, I knocked and hour and a half off my pb for a century- 5:10. Oh, and loved the whole closed roads things.

Seriously worried about this now. Haven't trained in three weeks due to family and the mother of all head colds. Went out on the bike two days ago and couldn't breathe. Needless to say, I will not be latching onto a fast group, though will keep an eye out for TTM, mjs and Dan W.

B.e.a utiful blue and black carbon dolan earlier on the old kent road (or the one that connects to it eastbound), bullhorns, and a forum cap. Didn't DAS as was feeling slightly stupid doing 0mph fully lycra'd up.

So having failed to get out of bed today, going to do a run to canterbury via whitstable tomorrow, if anyone fancies it. Will be on a geared roadie- but going gently-, will be following the herne bay ride route, will get lost, and will be leaving from central around 10ish.

Ooh, looks like an interesting thread. Am also in the 'doesn't drown' catagory.
Equally, if the stars aligned, I know a good route to lechlade, and could possibly sort out lifts back to Oxford to get trains (if people don't mind horse boxes for bikes). Though it would still be quite a big day.

Out of them, only heard of Dinner by Heston- which sounds awesome- and more than happy to be led to the others....

Quite enjoyed that actually. :) Got caught in traffic at the start of the second lap- that funky left hander. Sprinted up the hill, and made it back onto last wheel, only to immediately bonk and loose it. Boooo. Spent the next six laps recoving, and being towed round by jb and mike, to finally kinda take half a turn on the last lap.

Well, I went along at 7pm two weeks ago, and there were people there who didn't look tooo confused to have me there. So I was kinda thinking of going at the same time tomorrow....

Bloody hell, that was a lesson in humility. Lasted one lap at HoP speed, then joined onto another seemingly never ending line of randomers, was wrecked within the hour. More miles needed.

Good to see a few faces though, albeit briefly.
