A longer top tube will allow you to use more stem and bar options.

If its a V4 i'd go with a md b/c you'll have toe overlap on a sm.

I inserted two pieces of cable housing and some bar tape under the hood cap to flatten out the top surface. The Cane Creek v brake levers are more comfortable but a bit more pricy..

Northern California here. Last weekend i did one of my favorite rides that we call "the 2 bridge ride" traveling through 4 different cities, using the Martinez-Benicia and Carquinez-Zampa bridges over the San Francisco Bay and Caquinez Straight to complete the 30 mile loop. You guys have some great ride reports.

Yesterday while waiting for a light, i grabbed my front brake lever and rocked my bike back and forth checking the headset tolerances. While doing this I could see the OE steel fork visibly flexing back and forth at the crown junction a distance of about 15 to 20mm @ the dropouts. Is this normal? Are these steel forks really "that" flexy? Has anyone had a OE fork fail?

The hole isnt drilled all the way through the fork crown. i had to drill through the back of the crown in order to secure a rack. its doable.

Wait my bad their spaced for a 135mm hub. My CX bike has a rear disc brake.

Tough one. Love the pompino v4 geometry but sure would like to run Pompetamine 130mm spaced rear hub and disc brakes.

I was told there wont be a v4 pompet. Too bad really b/c the v4 geometry is quite a improvement IMO.

Im about 182cm tall on a large b/c i wanted to be able to use different bars and not have to use a stem longer than 110mm. Im using a surly open bar, 100mm x 90 stem and a zero offset seat post.

Before the v4 i was on a M/L which seemed a bit small and i had toe overlap.

Is there a way tell if my v4 raw frame has a clear coat? I ask b/c in the short time ive had it the finish is pretty scratched up and it doesnt look like theres any clear coat pealing up as a result.

Yes i didn't have to face the BB on my V4 . im using a hollow 2 with no spacers.

Where you @ Pade? Im in California and have a large white F&F + headset i'd like to sell.

The taller HT, longer ETT, steeper angles and mat finish made me me buy a V4 frameset. Just going to swap the parts off the current build..pics to follow. If anyone in the bay area or US is looking for a white large v2 pomp frame/fork and Ritchey headset let me know..

I just keep messing with my pompino. Now its got a cut down mary bar with oury grips and a inverted 110 5 degree stem 40/16 gearing and 28c tservs.
