Just wanted to see if anyone was interested in this-its a late 50s track/path frame and fork with mudguard eyes etc.
The bad first- the drive side track end/ dropouts has snapped off the chain stay where it was brazed on. I took it to Winston Vaz and he said he didn't want to re-braze it as he couldn't guarantee it like that, and that it was more complicated than simply refitting a new track end as the frame had pencil stays that are narrower than modern track end fittings.
The good- frame is nice, nervex lugs etc, was refurbished by Bob Jackson probably in the late 80s, but I fitted some period New old stock varnish fix JRJ decals to the downtube that are more in keeping with Bob Jackson's JRJ transfers of the late 50s.
Someone may want this to have a go at rebrazing it themselves or want to cut out and fit a new plate steel dropout themselves, or maybe you know a frame builder who would fix it cheaply and get yourself a nice track /path frame for not bad money?
I Think It Is 56cm square, I'll check for sure tomorrow.I need to get a bit of money for it if I can so anyone interested for £25

If it helps, I just bought a drive side 49d crank that was sold as french threaded and marked as such on the rear of the crank, but when I got it my British threaded pedal screwed right in no problem, didn't even need any convincing to go in. So I think you may be able to do this the other way around, brit thread to french pedal. Seems solidwhen ridden. My guess is the threads are similar enough and the alloy is soft enough/pedal steel hard enough that it just cuts a thread. +Having said that, when I check it it doesn't look like a new thread has been cut so maybe my crank had been rethreaded in then past?)

If you can match it I would try and match the paint. That said, looks like it might have been flamboyant or some sort of metallic paint, in which case it'll be almost impossible to match I would imagine.
If you do manage to match it okay, you can always get waterslide decals from h Lloyd for a bit extra or try and find original decals. Seem to match in much better this way than using vinyl decals .
What frame is it?
Proper bargain. No need for this and no space, but someone's got to snap that up sharpish surely, especially with £100+ of recent respray. GLWS
