Was cycling through a local nature reserve the other day (legitimately on a bridleway, I might add) and there was a fellow making his way through a gate in a dry stone wall up ahead of me. He kept looking down, and appeared to be saying encouraging stuff to whatever he was looking down at so I dropped my speed accordingly, fully expecting a dog to emerge.
Imagine my surprise then when a big old 4x4 RC crawler pops over the rocks and trundles down the path towards me.

First mince pie of the season. I'm going to try to keep it restrained this year in the hope of avoiding too much Christmas bloat, so it's high end artisan shit for me only (golf club thread ahoy).
First out of the door, Marmaduke's bakery. I was out and about and hankering for caffeine and these were sitting on the counter top looking all tempting. Controversial crumbly top didn't really add much, but didn't detract either. Not short on filling, pleasingly boozy and spiced, but far too much like a mince flavoured jam for my liking, where is the whole fruit? Will probs bosh a couple more of these given their convenient location, 7.5/10, not a bad start.

Just up into the peaks on the very edge of Sheffield. First mile of riding was sketchy as fuck as there was a ton of black ice even on the bridleways. I was contemplating turning back when I reached the point where fresh snow had fallen and it was a much grippier. Glad I persisted as it was well worth it.
Big improvement on the last time I tried to head into the peaks when it had snowed and I hit a patch of black ice when crossing a stream and took a slow comedy tumble into the water.

Have been watching the scream films for no reason other than prime suggested the first and I was like “why not?” and now I’ve done the original trilogy. Haven’t seen since they all originally came out, can’t say that they’ve aged immensely well, but you’ve got to tip your hat to Wes for doing that Knowing Meta thing.
I’ve not watched any of scream 4 and above, but I guess that’s where I’m going now.

Had to take Buffin for her second jab this week. Made the tactical blunder of trying to get her in the carrier in a room with hiding places, and she got herself firmly wedged under the bed in a highly defensible position. Had to ring the vet to delay to later in the afternoon.
Lesson learned, I lured her into the bathroom with a bowl full of delicious wet food and then when she'd had her fill it was BAM wrapped in a t-shirt and then straight in that box. She was deeply unhappy about it all and is now scowling at me, whilst occasionally coming over to get head boops.
Bit of a shame that it had to happen today, as she'd started to seem a bit more chilled out in parts of the house that she had previously been v skittish in, and is now back to leaping at her own shadow in the kitchen etc. But at least she's all vaxxed up now and hopefully will forget about the betrayal pretty soon.
