Obviously this is a ridiculous question because it's an even more personal thing than shoes, but can I have some sock suggestions please?
I've always used cheapo Karrimors due to price, longevity and the fact they feel pretty good. Quality has definitely decreased and my newer pairs don't last that long and don't really feel that comfortable either.
What should I try?

which one? problem with parkrun is that they vary so wildly according to course.
gentle long run along the Thames this morning. I chickened out of the faster miles at the end.
Ashton Court, so its a rather brutal straight up a hill for 1.5 miles, turn round and run down again. 100 metres of climbing so never going to be a pb course. It's nice to have a weekly blast though.

i ran 42:39 in Nottingham. had a really dodgy moment at the start of the 3rd lap. what about you?
16 miles this morning. can we say that winter has gone now?
Blimey, that is quick! 46:57 here, got a bit overzealous on lap 2 when I caught a team mate and faded a bit on the last lap but I was still very happy with it.
I can't even fathom running 42 minutes, congrats.

When I started upping my distance a couple of years ago I found I could motivate myself to stay out for longer if I had something to entertain me. In my case I found a couple of podcasts that ran for 2 hours and just stayed out til they were done, didn't have to think about motivating myself to run, just listened.

Beautiful morning for running, a slight chill which wore off as the sun rose.
I would highly recommend the Transcendence series in Battersea Park, well organised, well marshalled, fruit and snacks at the end and liquids during the race.
10miles in 57:11.
Blimey, that's quick.
What did you run at Nottingham if you don't mind me asking?
Had an enjoyable appearance at Parkrun this morning, 2 miles each way to get there too made it a decent length.

at least you can put off the purchase until next autumn now.
i think i preferred Parliament Hill.
Couple of ten milers coming up over the next few weekends any of you marathon lot doing them to see where you are at? Battersea Park tomorrow or Sidcup 10 next week? Properly measured long standing races and everything.
Yes. I will have spikes for next season! I hated Parliament Hill, but that was all down to footwear and being frustrated I couldn't get two steps in the same direction. I think with spikes/in the dry (ha) it would have been a lot of fun.

Cheers all for sock recommendations. Will have to grab a few and try them out with my various shoes.
