Joined pannier.cc on a supported Kyrgyzstan trip. Had been thinking about this for a few years. Having known the trip lead and listened to their SRMR stories, the hike-a-bike tails were enough to steer me toward doing something out there but a bit more chill that my partner could join.
Kyrgyzstan is fantastic, Bishkek is chill, the mountains, altitude, the people, all great and breathtaking.
But it was Tosor pass that really nailed the love for this build. Peaking at 3,900 meters and then descending toward lake Issyk-Kul, it's a rocky and muddy access road that runs for 37km and drops 2.4km in altitude (which coming from the UK is mental!), full rip all the way, didn't know a hardtail could be pushed that fast and easily the best off-roading I've ever done.
Also supported by Nelson Trees (SRMR organiser), the trip has reignited an itch to enter the Atlas Mountain Race next year.

It took 400km but finally found some SFAB in central Asia, getting those home grav feels.

cat3bit sent me some images of prototype mounts for 10mm tubing. Could message via etsy store. Some of these might work..if you have Exposure lights but are to the outside of the rack and will likely impede the panniers..

There is always the money gun option, and get something custom. Cat3bits does this SWAT that is presumably for this use case and takes custom orders..

Condition: Excellent, worn < 10 times.Failed to comprehend the size guide and these are too big. Have now smuggled in another pair, think they are excellent.
For reference, I wear 32x32 in Swrve skinny jeans and shorts, 32 in Chrome shorts, 32 in rapha trail pants and 30x32 in Ornot.

Things have escalated. Water Butt from marketplace and some solar irrigation added for when away, they are basically pets now.
Carolina reapers are proving a joy to grow in pots, compared with the others they've shallow roots and are looking nice and dense, along with this mini meanie (left).

roomy enough to stretch to 2 people on the few times my girlfriend wants to join?
Got a Big Agnes Copper Spur bikepacking UL2 with this in mind, used for a few years as a luxury 1 person tent and is now a pretty decent 2 person.
It's great because it fits easily between narrow drop handlebars.
Downside is price, probably just at <£10 per night by now 🥲

How you guys organize your bike parts / parts bin? Is there some sort of system you use? What would be good boxes to use? My stuff is all mixed together in cardboard boxes and its a mess.
RAACO storage has saved my santiy, along with some plastic bins..
