I see your point if another fork is much cheaper but the one you mentioned seemed quite costly. Even with an Air fork you will not have a Tommasini frameset only a Tommasini frame with another fork. You could get a Ford Mondeo engine to fit into your E-type lightweight but it will not be a classed as a real Jaguar.
The fork is a large part of the frame. And those Air ones don't even look right.
You are more than welcome to some pics and measurements from mine if it helps.

They actually have bb height restrictions at HH?
Considering many top riders have used up to 180 cranks at indoor velodromes (I believe Mr Hoy rides 170) I wouldn't think it was an issue. The chances of pedal strike are pretty much non existant at HH I would think especially as that archaic rule was made in the days of wider pedals. -

So you can either put on a totally unrelated and possibly not correct fork or a special one-off made by the original maker. Does this require any cerebal activity?
With the latter option the bike is 100% Tommasini which is what it should be. No matter how nicely made the other fork will be it will never be a Tommasini fork ! -
Right before you go paying for incorrect forks have you contacted Tommasini.
They still make 700 pista Air fully panto forks and may be able to make you 650. They are VERY helpful unlike numerous other companies. The 700 pista Air are not cheap -retail thru H Bike at 280 Euro.
I would speak direct to Tommasini. They gave me a quick and informative reply regarding my Tommasini and even sent me an email Christmas card.
It makes ownership of a bike a bit more special when you get a helpful manufacturer.

Hi,
A few points -
First excellent work and interesting post.
The original forks on these are silly tight I cannot even get certain wheels in (650c's in fact seem to vary a lot in actual diameter).
I think a rear disc/ front spoked would be a great solution as that is a common set up on outdoor tracks.
I think also originals would have pista headset. Cranks you have are spot on.
Looks great.
What is your bb height out of interest?

I have always thought there was something interesting about the Takhions etc -sort of the whole Soviet era mystique however recently I have seen so many pics of the workmanship on these and some Polish frames that I've unfortunately arrived at the conclusion that most of them must have been made in the dark .

Oria I believe (faint grooves in tubes) (was Reiniers). I'm trying to track down some info on the frame and possibly repaint into original colours if worth so doing.
It is has a very high bottom bracket presumably for a long tt chainset. This means a cm or two too long a seatpost (although I do have a long inside leg for my height) with standard 170 cranks . The raised bb has of course shortened the chainstays and it has a small brazed guide so the front mech cable is kept from touching rear wheel.
it is nearly ready for riding now.
There is so little info on these frames - :(

Hi all
I am just putting together a Moser Va Por la Hora and am trying to research the name stamped on bottom bracket. It is on opposite side to the numbers - the usual place for rider's (or team?) name to be stamped during manufacture.
The name is CANIS (in some languages means dog)
If anyone has any ideas I would like to hear them.
NB it is Not CANINS.
Also I am looking to buy any literature on these frames.
Cheers

Yes it's a very nice frame .However may be a little too small even with ITM duals I was planning to fit.
