Thanks, yeah it has been warm and it is an autumn planting variety. I’ll leave it to do its thing. Haven’t put in broad beans this autumn, going to stick to spring planting. Picked the last tomatoes out of the greenhouse today too.

Planted garlic a few weeks ago to overwinter, some of it is 10cm high already. Am I going to have to put something over it to protect it from frost etc? Fleece, earth up like potatoes? Wasn’t expecting this.

Anyone interested in the lot for £400 before I split it up? I’m sure you will check, but for your NE panels, generation will be very low. Check very carefully before going for those as they’re unlikely to be cost effective for a long time.

Was going to be about 10 year payback time for us which was the product warranty period, matching what @Howard says above, but our quote was about £12k last year for 6 panels (SSE facing) + 9.6kWh battery. Not worth it. If that spec got down to about £6-7k then I’d probably jump.

That’s heating and hot water, we’re in Dorset with two of us in the house both wfh, don’t use much hot water through choice. Central heating at 19.

We can’t get mains gas. Our oil combi uses around 900l per year, which cost £600 earlier in the year. Add on £120 for boiler servicing is total £720.

900l oil is about 7750kWh of heat assuming 80% efficiency. If we got that from a tepeo electric combi at 87% efficiency (from their website), that would be nearly 9000kWh electric. At 7.5p current overnight price of Intelligent Octopus, that would be £675 + no servicing costs.

Unless I’ve missed something, which is entirely possible, at my current electric prices a Tepeo combi seems worth considering - granted the thing hasn’t been released yet, but like I said, I’m keeping an eye on them because I want to replace the oil burner asap.

Had these with yellow stickers on yesterday, the pizza base was not nice, culprit maybe being the gluten free side of things. The ‘cheese’ wasn’t good either, agree in the strange texture. Were also pretty small. Dr Oetker doesn’t have anything to worry about in my opinion.

Nope, but hoping to replace an oil combi with something else after this winter. Keeping a close eye on this lot - https://www.tepeo.com/ - who are supposed to be coming out with an electric combi in 2024. Feels like it will suit us much better than a heat pump for retrofitting and running cost reasons with cheap overnight electric. Doesn’t have the efficiency benefits of a heat pump, but I really want something that doesn’t need a hot water tank.

Think it will take me three times that with the new one. If I can do it in 10 I’ll be well happy.

All this push mower chat sounds like too much effort. Just bought a Bosch electric plug-in one to replace the flymow that we got off free cycle which has finally given up. Couldn’t stomach cost of cordless though.

I don’t see it as a gift. It’s a team working to keep their rider in the leaders jersey. If it was PR or JV in red, we’d just be talking about the team support. I’ve just found some old Shure E2’s in a cupboard that I’d forgotten about. Not sure they’re worth much, and should be noted that the cable is split on one of the cables (see pic). They work but I’ve got no need for them. There are a variety of silicon and clear plastic ear fittings, and a few of the spare wax guard dots. No case either. Is anyone interested? I’m happy with a forum donation in exchange.
