I like the black wheels, mavic 719 with xt hubs is a great choice for this kind of bike, very strong.

I think 32mm fits easily. I had 28mm with the wheel almost slammed and still had 3mm clearance to the seattube. If you put the wheel back a bit there should be no problem.
