I like it. I bet it rides well.
Something must have been very heavy to save 500g with those changes.
Aren't the new pedals just a different colour?Yeah you're right, pedals are just an aesthetical change, but I forgot to mention the titanium skewers (40gms!), a dura ace cassette (old one was a 105) and super light air chambers. The seatpost (old vitus one) and the saddle were pretty heavy so even if it's just an approximation (I'm not a weight weenie I haven't got a precision balance :)), it has to be close to 500g!

What shoes are you using with these?
Normally these are to be used with special cleats (super hard to find btw) but you can use them with regular shoes. Personnaly I use them with converse...
And some pics of my Veneto with new tyres (vittoria tecno Sport TT)

Appart from the saddle, seat post and headset all the parts are french (mavic stem, pedals crankset and wheels, sachs handlebars, brakes and gears, incl. ergopowers). -

@Hovis: I'm looking for that kind of lugged fork, very classic look, to replace the aluminium shit I currently have.

My new current project: Pinarello Asolo, year is probably late 80's early 90's
Unfortunately the frame didn't come with the fork so I installed an unbranded aluminium one. The bike is 90% italian, with athena rear mech and brake callipers,
record crankset and shifters, mirage front mech, chorus seatpost, 3ttt stem, cinelli criterium handlebar, gipiemme tecno 716 pro wheels (yeah, poor version of shamal, but
ride the same IMO and they look pretty cool).
The bike is almost finished, I need to change the bottom bracket for a 102mm record and the saddle will be replaced by an iscaselle Giro d'Italia.

I like that. A lot.
For me, aesthetically, I'd have the stem a bit higher and the ergos further round the bends with the bars rotated. But you're changing the bars you said so.....
Apparently you can use the Sachs ergo levers with the gorgeous Mavic rear dérailleur, cool mongrel drivetrain. I thought about trying it on my Cougar, I have that same second generation 631 chainset too. Sachs new success is pretty nice though, what are the brakes like? Thanks! I wish I had mavic ssc derailleurs but new success work fine on this one. Actually I finished the final set up yesterday evening:

And yeah Meconium is a shit name but it's cute because it's the newborn very first pooh -
Hey all,
here is my current project, built from scratch, fully functional but the current belleri handlebar will be replaced by a
sachs new success (copy of modolo X-tenos) and the vitus seatpost will be replaced by a chorus (more straight).

Veneto frame, columbus cromor
Italia saddle (model???)
Sachs New Success brakes, ergo levers, rear and front mech
Mavic 631 crankset, Mavic 640 pedals, Mavic open pro rims laced on ultegra 6400 hubs -
