While I am here and have the knowledge of a loving community at hand ... can someone explain single speed freewheels to me. Why are there seemingly only 2 options = cheap versions that die after a month and ridiculously expensive versions (that are ridiculously expensive)? Has no one thought of designing something in the middle (maybe it exists and I've missed it?).

To add; I've just tried the womens merino long Johns and they don't look out of place on male legs let me tell you. I got the medium and I am usually a 30-32 waist. fits fine. Also the winter jersey looks like cheap lycra on the outside but it is has a really comfy fabric on the inside lining - also an elasticated waist band which keeps it from riding up. Really impressed with the quality for how it is.
Out of male merino stuff = give the womens gear a try.

Went in the Plymouth store today. It was a bonanza - middle aged men fighting over clothing. First time I have ever gotten a rush of adrenaline in an Aldi.
Got some gloves (went for large, I don't have big hands but the mediums were very small), leg warmers, winter jersey and some women's merino long johns. There was hardly any mens merino stuff left so I had a peak at the womens stuff and it seemed pretty unisex so thought what the heck.

Sorry to drift slightly but a word of warning on that stem ... I bought the exact same model NOS from Hillary Stone and that little plastic black bit hiding the bolt, well, it is extremely flimsy and held in place simply by a screw. Tighten that screw too much and the plastic will snap, have it too loose and it rattles. All pictures I've seen of that stem eventually dont include that little plastic bit. Disappointing design fault on an otherwise lovely stem. Be careful with it.

I was in LA a few months back (only for a week). First thing I noticed was how wide the streets were, how much room there was for cyclists and how relatively little traffic there was. Cant speak to different attitudes towards road rage but the roads definitely help I think (and LA's laid back - lets all build our houses differently - attitude).

OH my dear god
I just searched 'pompino' in google images looking for pictures of pomps.
DO NOT do that at work or any other public place.
