If you had a bottle in a seat tube mounted cage it would cover the branding, the decal placement seems like a lame attempt to be different for it's own sake but actually doesn't work. Pretty bike though.
lots of 80's has writing there actually. just like many frames from early 80s had just one bottle cage. but yeah :|

This - I have dabbled with fancy brakes, but the braking I get from Record callipers is a whole different ball game. Plus, they cost me less than the fancy ones and look nicer. Groupset brakes from now on.
Yeah I think i'll just stick with campagnolo in this case. They at least seem to have consistent performance across the board with weight of the component as the only variable.

If you're only bothered about the look (and shimano avoidance), you could also consider Modolo....
Hipsterpoints-a-go-go - and not too shabby at stopping you either. Its just that i'm hell bent on these since I saw them. 180 is the cheapest I can find.

Clearly we're on a different (metaphorical) page, I thought you wanted to treat yourself. The Tektro R530s I mentioned up at the top of the page are what I had before the Revl, and they worked just fine. Finding the pad you like best makes more difference than there is between cheap Tektros and DuraAce when new, although the DuraAce obviously keep their as-new feel for longer.
Looks and comfort over performance for me. I dont think I could ever bring myself to fitting something shimano on my bikes. And I'm just 150 pounds so I dont to squeeze levers very hard either. I just want white brakes, not black or silver. It seems that just the white coat of color ads a 100 quid to every model.

What do you want from your brakes? If it's stopping, every boutique brake is benchmarked against DuraAce for a reason; for normal brake levers, you'll need BR-7800, not the latest ones. Of the weight weenie brakes, EEBrake and M5 probably do best to match the performance of DuraAce at a lighter weight. For bling, the Revl¹ gives you your carbon fix without having to spend £1000 on AX-Lightness, albeit at the weight of a cheap aluminium brake like Planet-X. Finally, if you want to go fast, the TriRig Omega² is the most aero brake you can buy new, and unlike early adopters (cough) you'll get the rollers on the brake arms as standard, which is a mod I had identified as desirable when I got mine and started looking at hopping it up.
aah perfect. wanted to ask you for this. I need a pair of vanity brakes in my road bike life. I love selling lines like "The Omega was truly developed in the wind tunnel"
The revl is far too expensive at 300+

Witnessed an odd and moderately dangerous riding style from a tall bloke on a '12 Histogram with speedplays on the morning commute from Grays Inn Road onto Clerkenwell Road.
Barely altered his changed his cadence, steamrolling through potential hazards in dense traffic and open road at the same speed. Never doubted anyone hadn't seen him. And never doubted they would wait until he had passed. Sort of a jaded by morning traffic so russian roulettes it via slow motion alleycat moves.
A gentleman on a green/metallic mercian with a saddlebag displaying the same behavior on old street tonight. My spotting was swerving like a snake though and displayed apparent joy of doing so. Almost took out a bloak on a black somethingsomething with a shaved head and rich facial hair.
