guys guys, dont worry.
technically its a one to one copy from the dia compe clamp on.
and i think you dont going to say that all people using this are fearless idiots with a good dentist?and of course im not going to pace down the next steep hill to see if it REALLY works.. im going to try this step by step on slow speeds ( in ma backyard to get you satisfied ) and if in aint gonna work -> trashbin ..
alright?!

hey folks,
took me at least 3andahalf hours and a bit of a headache but i finally finished my clamp on front brake for undrilled forks.
see pics for details
no waiting for proper weather to give it a go and see if it works like i want it to
but its a pretty stiff and solid construction so i think it could work fine
feel free to give suggestions / critique and stuff
cheers

the knoll ones have a marcel breuer stamp on the leather and engraving in metal.
gavina was also a knoll licensed producer of these chairs.
cannot remember if they are marked, too.
i bet this is a copy - got one myself and it looks pretty much like yours.
the italians used to produce pretty good copies and they still do i think..
give it a polish and wipe away the dust then it might gain more interest within a sec.
good luck selling! -

dont know if its too risky but maybe you could try glueing just the crack before having it drilled / glueing the whole post into the frame.
i recently glued some aluminium parts theres few industrial 2-c-epoxy products on the market for quite little money.
i bought "uhu endfest 300"
UHU plus endfest 300 2 x 15 ml: Amazon.co.uk: Kitchen & Home
which takes up to 300kgs/ sqcm when heat-dried.
maybe it would be worth a try ? -

thanks for your both comments guys. really pleasing to see that you folks are grappling with this AND at least do worship my work and not only running things down.
veLLo´s words are summing this up quite good.
i saw lots of discussions upon here about how to fit a brake on a track fork and yeah there already went lots of brains and good ideas into this .
so at least i wanted to execute my own thoughts, and as the clamp in system may not be the bestlooking but kind of easiest way to have a crack , i just had a try on a boring sunday.
as i had my hands on metalwork and have been tinkering and working with those materials since my early childhood (thanks dad !) , constructing things, dissambeling / reassembling mopeds etc etc. i slightly know how materials behave and perform under stress.
AND as i am a quite cautious person i wouldnt be such a fool to believe that my construction would be the ultimate solution and a 100% safe.
to me, the original dia compe system is, apart from its improved stiffness and safety, still a clumsy way to get some braking power.
so i´m not sure how long this thing will actually be on my bike.
i was also thinking of some solution as mentioned in another thread by using kind of a ahead adapter stem with a attached brake fixture which is inserted into the fork from below, but due to lack of space between fork crown and tire .. you can guess the end of story ...
enjoy your evening guys
