Wasn't sure where to post this. I've just taken my first ever sick day for mental health reasons. I didn't want to bother the depression thread but it has taken a lot for me to justify to myself, taking a sick day for something that isn't physical.
No real point to my post really, I just felt like I needed to say it. I'm sad -

Looks like the genuine ones do have a bit of a squared profile but it's in a sort of "diamond" orientation rather than square -
Almost definitely fake. I've had a pair in my hands recently (don't buy shimano from czbikeparts on ebay people!!)
If you're willing to open them up then the axle assembly will probably be very different to a genuine one.
If not then I remember seeing imperfections in the finish under the the paint. Which as you say is too shiny
Also, the tension bolt was kind of squared off instead of being a nice round circle.

I'm sure I've seen people run Magura disc calipers with Shimano hydraulic brake levers
It works
Magura only sells one kind of brake fluid
Not true in the case of rim brakes
so theoretically you could run magura rim brakes with modern shimano STIs.. Or TRP Hylix levers
Assuming the pistons in the levers are the correct size...

Minor cough, slightly sore throat. Weakness and a mild consistent headache is the standout issue.
