I think there is generally way too much talk of the 'right recipe' to make coffee and similar nonsense around where/who the beans come from and not enough 'this is way better than average'.
Don't get me wrong, once you've jumped into the good stuff your perspective changes, but Monmouth is still insanely good by any reasonable measure.

I went pretty hard on Slay the Spire for a while and got burnt out - but that's sort of indicitive of how good it is in the first place.
Recently been playing the demo for Loop Hero, interesting mix of deck builder / auto battler, very much looking forward to the full release on Thursday.

Darko interesting on Spotify hifi and more widely here - particularly that he thinks it won't cost any extra, I kind of doubt that but I can see how he gets there. Hadn't even thought about the fact there's no spotify in roon (that also doesn't matter too much to me) and that there may well be no MQA but I won't miss that either.

I take the view that all streaming is basically a bad deal for the people I like to listen to, but I buy the things I want to own on Bandcamp/Norman/wherever and round out my collection with streaming - of course, I regularly land up streaming things I own for convenience...
I don't see any of them clamouring for their fans to move streaming platforms because that would make any meaningful difference to the situation.

No date or price, but there's going to be a lossless Spotify tier this year.

Yeah, that's partly why I started it up again - waiting for Tidal Connect to make it to my Uniti Atom and still a little aggrieved KEF don't seem to be planning to bring it to the LS50W. I can't say I have a strong opionion about the changes they've made, from my point of view it's still a really nice UI and simplifies the whole online / digital music / multi room problem.
I think I'll probably go the NUC route whether I stick with Roon or not. I have enough music that only exists as bandcamp downloads at this point and a few different 'end points' that something other than my desktop PC in the middle seems sensible.

I find it a bit odd the Hoff recommends coffee second for the clever but not for the Hario equivalent - am I missing a reason?
Going to have a bash anyway, the draw down is kind of annoying, if it can be reduced without messing flavour I'm all for it. Still really like the Hario Switch, particularly in the morning when I sometimes can't be bothered with the extra fiddling of a normal v60.

I guess the modern equivaltent would just be an extra input switch box? Haven't noticed phono stages that take more than one input, but given I have two turntables could actually see it being sort of useful - I mean, the DJ mixer is essentially that with a likely worse amplifictation stage.
Should probably just get saving for a very fancy DJ mixer :|
There are tons of bad vinyl pressings in the world and poor-sounding digital recordings. Who gives a shit, at the point you're spending as much time and money as people in this thread are, all that matters is you like what you hear and the way it gets to you.
I mean that in terms of anyone rubbishing format A or format B - I bet all your cables suck . . .
