Yeah, it is really a pretty strange but awesome paint job. Wasn't so sure about it a first, but now it just makes me happy. Here is mine which I picked up for cheap in a somewhat ratty condition (especially the chrome on the forks have see better days). Building up as summer ride to have when I visit my mom's house.

Only have one bike here and needed pedals that I could 1) ride with sneakers, and 2) use with recessed cleats. Have speedplays on my other bikes, which are great, but about as far away from practical as you can get when off the bike.

Less crowded.

Cool - did some additional googling and found that there are a few other frame sets with the same paint job. A 1991 Koga Miyata Terrarunner and a 1992 Miyata 914/6. In the Miyata catalogue it is referred to as "Blue Cosmos"

Took it out for a first ride this morning. Best steel frame I've had up to this point is a Moser Ax Leader, and I would say the K-M is on the same level. Trusted it immediately on the descents, and generally found it really inspiring to ride. Hadn't ridden in over 3 weeks, but feel surprisingly good after 100k (I doubt this had been the case had I been on my krabon).

Yeah, agree. It is a bit strange though, because at least as far I have seen, this is pretty different from the other paint jobs they offered over the years.
