Thanks for rummaging, Mr Dooks, no worries… I'll hit up Watford valves. Cheers!
Geekery: I put a pedalboard together recently (and used it with the mighty Hornimen of Elvers fame. Woop).
My first ever… I just used to throw a tremolo and a dirt pedal on the floor.
It's only rattle-canned plywood, but I am pathetically proud. Vintage pen box is a cable tidy. The gap is for something silly which I haven't decided on yet.

^Woo, you learning it? I got it half down a while ago but stopped, typical me. Lovely piece. Good luck dude!
I'm on a thumbpick kick. Tonight's discov is this….
Bah, embed fail, but click. You'll probably get a 30-sec ad, soz.
Gloss over the fact that it's a tubby Dutch guy in beige casualwear recording into a computer mic… 'tis Ton Van Bergeijk, noted ragtime guitarist of the early '70s and here just generally mucking about at home for a laugh. Some of the slickest shit I've heard since Jerry Reed. Mad.

Might be a bit much for beach visits and the odd euro polo road trip... RE: Fuel economy, forums suggest that Delicas can do about 21mpg, is this particularly bad?
I think 21mpg is pretty tragic. Delicas might have whopping engines, but SWB and silly tyres means not much fun past 70mph and you'll be desperately keeping it below 65 on a run to avoid mpg dropping into the teens.
They are kinda loveable, though.
Risking howls of derision, if I was thinking of a beach hut-meets-Euro polo sled I'd consider a Fiat Doblo. They're cheap, look vile, are huge inside (a lot bigger than a Berlingo) and you'll get 50mpg out of it whatever the engine. Or, if you're feeling hilarious, a Multipla with the JTD diesel. You can fit a whole polo team in the three front seats, and a ton of crap in the back.
Okay, maybe scratch that one… but the Doblo's not a bad idea...

So far I've got my heart set on a Mitsubishi Delica, I'm reading the Owners Club forums and trying to learn a bit about them but thought I'd ask here if anyone has other recommendations for similar Mad Max style campers/vans.
I do like a Delica. A friend living in Spain where the local tracks are brutal had a couple of them but eventually went back to running disposable cars as the fuel costs were just getting too much. The 2.8td engine is nice. Manual boxes are very hard to find. They handle very oddly on twisties in 2WD for some reason.
Like Neil I'd look at Nissan/Toyota van types too... or an older Hi-Lux with a box on the back would look ace.
Or there's the Bongo route... but not very Mad Max.

I used Enterprise last time and got a small van. Cheaper than a small car, but be sure to get outside insurance as the hire company will charge you loads for it and many of them refuse to go below £500 excess on any commercial vehicle hire. I used Insurance4carhire.com to buy zero excess and was glad I did as some shitbag dinged me in a car park. Took ages to sort but got all the money eventually. Hurrah.

Maybe a Guitalele - small like a uke, but a proper little guitar, at £60? http://www.besttravelguitars.com/acoustic-travel-guitar-reviews/yamaha-gl-1-guitalele-review/
Neato. I have a Tacoma Papoose, same scale, tuned A to A. Fab for recording, adds a magic sprinkle. Very David Rawlings.
fucking ukuleles. anyone that plays / owns one of these fucking things should be held personally responsible for the explosion of cutesy, whimsical vom-inducing cunting cover versions of otherwise perfectly serviceable songs and the fashion for jizzing said songs over every advert on telly selling anything from tampons to big macs.
fuck the fuck off with your elves guitar.

A friend has an Eastwood Mosrite Ventures copy... He loves it but I think it plays, looks and sounds like shit...
Slain is correct IMO... now this '66 bass on the other hand… $2500… too much...
Christ this mix has been driving me demented but I just decided to walk away and get on with something else. So here is the finished version:
Excellent!

^Very cool...
Just tried a 74 Precision with a Jazz width neck. Sunburst, crazy light. Arrrrgh. Must. Not.
