I'd guess the real owner left town a while ago. My friend OCDC (see up) wrote to the guy before it was locked up there (it was left outside somewhere else) asking if he could buy it. I think it goes that the guy wrote back saying it's not for sale. A couple of months later it just sat there getting more and more defiled.
£30 at a boot fair? Not bad going!

Whoa... this bicycle supersedes beauty. This is indeed ravishing.
From the aesthetics and user-interface of the Espresso Deep V wheel-set, to the audibly pleasing rattle from the Novatec flip-flop hubs; even the Push seat-post on this bike embraces the enchanting radiance of creation itself.
Beyond impressive... enlightening!

Winter is here so I'm starting to think about next spring/summer and a spot of touring.
Was wondering if anyone can recommend a decent tent for mild/nice weather that sleeps at least one and packs down nice and small?
On the same theme - anyone got any advice on other gear they consider essential for 2-3day+ rides? Vaseline and babywipes are a given (cough cough).
Cheers and happy Fridays!

Forgot to mention sizes. I'm 5'11'' and it was fine for me riding shotgun. Girlf is 5'10'' and she was happy enough though you wouldn't get anyone taller than that on the back I'd say.
Also - both the saddles are Brooks - I think they're the same comfy/sprung ones you see on lots of shoppers/old school fold-ups.

Hey,
So I recently moved from London to Brighton and, reluctantly, need to sell my Tandem as I simply don't have the room here (a warehouse in Hackney Wick was fine, small house by the sea isn't).
It's a 1965 Pashley Tourmaster. Have had a lot of fun with it - used it as a daily commuter around East London when I was working there (the sit-up and beg riding position was nice on my wrists following a run-in with an Addison Lee cab). I bought it to pick my girlf up when she visited as I resent buses tubes - a much better alternative!
There's some surface rust on some parts (as you can see in the pics) but nothing to worry about. The rear mudguard was cracked broken by some rather menacing friends of mine. Not a massive cost to replace, I just never got around to it. I've also got the original Pletscher rear rack (not in the pics) which I'll fit to it.
It rides nicely, though the brakes could do with some attention (need to leave a nice bit of space in the wet). There's a 3 speed Sturmey Archer hub, changes OK (bit sticky sometimes).

I paid £175 for it from a chap on Gumtree earlier this year. Lowest I'll go is £150 so that's the price.
Bye.

A friend's MTB was stolen at around 9pm on Tuesday (25th September) night from Hova Villas, Hove.
It's a 2008 Rocky Mountain Flow (hard-tail) MTB. Metallic red/burgundy frame, avid hydraulic disc brakes, marzocchi dir jumper forks got pretty distinctive white rims and white stem.
As far as I know Rocky Mountain's are pretty rare (import only) - we're scouring eBay/gumtree.

If anyone happens to see it around town please slap a d-lock on it and give me a shout - 07720 63 99 13.
Danke!

Hey BG,
I think you're right about most shops - to be fair I only tried two near my office and both came up with nothing; I even phoned up Prestige in advance to see if they had some crank bolts - they said they had, so I showed up, and they didn't.
I then tried Hove Cycles - I've been in there before for very simple things and never come out with anything...
And yeah, the nut and bolt store! That's very near my house so will head up there soon - nice one!
Hey all,
So, forgive just how n00b parts/most of this post will sound, and those who live beneath bridges and smell the blood of christian men, please resist your better instincts.
I'm considering getting some brifters for my road bike. Having tried some out lately they seem a good system.
I want to stick with Campag Athena as the rest of my gruppo thus.
How do I know which ones I need? I see some are 11speed, some are 8 speed etc. So here's the n00b bit - how do I know which speed levers I need? I'm sure there's a simple equation but I'm not sure what it is. I've 2 rings on the front and 7 speed free-wheel at the back. Normally I'd consider that a 14 speed bike but don't seem to have 14 speed shifters. What am I missing?
