I saw that, complete bargain. Surely you mean 1" threaded. Its all standard apart from Italian bb, which is pretty standard. I reckon drop bars, double brake, clipless. Goodluck!
this is not the typo you're looking for
/distraction Also, got a Garmin 800 with cadence/heartrate from Halfords for 290quid today. Which was nice.

EC2 - I'd rather buy the bars I actually need, nightmares of buying the others then you having a sudden influx of orphans with exotic diseases that can only be cured by 42cm noodles ;-p
Yes. Thats the kind of thing I have nightmares about. I dont suppose you both go to LMNH often? Easy place to meet and do it all at once

Ergos
Front/Rear derailleur (braze on front)
9 spd Sprocket set , Open Pro rim, tiagra hub, gatorskin, all built up
Big/Small chainring
Chain
Cable outers(!)Note - Brakes, Cranks & matching Front wheel are also available for trade/discussion, but currently pigeon holed for a project and not included.
170 quid the lot. Has been ridden, condition not immaculate - see pics. Shifter in particular has some of the paint coming away from the plastic.
OR
Trade the whole lot for an interesting 700 rear on a flipflop hub to fit 120-126mm stays with a 42mm chainline.
PM for more detailed pics if needed or to cast abuse and aspersions about the kind of mammal I was spawned from/spawn on.
Collect from EC2, or I can work out postage.

So, I have acquired a bargain from the esteemed Hilly Ben ( Esteemed, because he threw in a free half pint with the frame, despite me sneaking off having paid him short - no idea what the rest of you think of him ;-p )
This is hillys old 80's Concorde columbus steel frame, hurrah. 126mm rear spacing, saucy little thing that it is. I feel a new winter commuter coming on.
I now need to consider how to build it up spending something within the realm of sanity for a winter commute, while not ruining the bike - it'll be on an old set of Mavic open pros, tiagra front brake and a brooks saddle, but other than that, its going to be a hunt and build.
1 inch threaded Stem & Bars, I might splurge a little and see if I can find a sale nitto noodle & stem.
I hope to use my existing (late 90s) Shimano 9 speed Tiagra cranks (double ring, square taper), but need to consider hub and BB that will give me a decent chainline without breaking the bank. Horizontal dropouts. BB is italian threaded, any suggestions?
I figured a Shimano UN55 with 113mm spindle - Sheldon thinks 110 will give me a 41mm chainline on the inside of the spider, so 113 will give me 42.5 - which should be nice and in line for common 120mm hubs on the rear, right?
/noob building first fixed ;-p

edit: What? I can measure a tube. Honest!

Now ridable. And has been around the carpark. Going 'Wheee'. I'll see if it falls to bits on Saturday with a proper outing ;-p
1999 Rossin Steel frame
90's: Selle Italia saddle, Selcof seatpost, 3t Stem, Forza 2 bars, Shimano PD-M545 pedals
Everything else: Sapim Race spokes, White Industries H2/H3 hubs, Athena groupset, Chorus Shifters, Record headset, H+Son TB14 clinchers, Continental GP4000s tyres
Cheating? ;-p

Next: Single speed, lugged frame, mudguards. Need a bit of time to repair the savings though, sadly.

Met Nik there who was highly entertained by my refusal to allow her to do anything helpful to my bike at all other than put on the chain I didnt have the tool for - and, I suspect, my ridiculous gleeful grin at finally having the frame back and cabled up and looking like a PROPER BIKE.
Although with too many gears, obv.
But still.
PROPER.Thanks Nik ;-p I will come back and prove to you I am capable of crimping my own cables.
Also, why do the cable ends keep coming off and falling in the spokes and causing the wheels to collapse and my face to operate as a brake on the gravel? My gears dont work either. I think maybe the chain is on wrong.
Byeeee ;-p

Don't want to crap on your most excellent story. Main thing is you got the bike back and the thieving shit got arrested. The cops almost always get given a hard time here regardless of the results and fact is they helped you get your friends bike back.
Police cells aren't known for their roof gardens or panoramic views, I'd be amazed if the scrote could get a signal even if he did have his phone on him for a bit while in the cell. Think about how many times you can't get a signal while inside a building, then think about how thick the walls are of a typical police cell.
Depending on how much they care, thats a very well defined time window to see who he called if they go after the cell records/look at the call log on the phone.

Apologies to anyone who is ruffled by the title... posted at moment of frustration. I would rename the thread to 'polite euphemism!' but sadly I dont seem to have that ability.
I'll try condor on monday - good tip, thanks. I'll keep fingers crossed they can sell me just one ;-p
Single speed comes next ;-p one bike at a time!

Thanks Chew - will wait and see if something a bit closer to the length I need turns up, though.
