Lots of other options available.I've been keeping up to date with ebay, so have seen these and all the variations going out. Several people had mentioned to me that they don't rate Novatech hubs.
I'm also really into buying pre-owned stuff, I guess I'm very seduced by the idea that the top fo what I can afford can be made to go further due to depreciation...

Anyone got a bracket/clamp/bodge for this?

IMG-20130513-00137 (1) by nickwarnerphoto, on FlickrJust got this new velocity rack and realised my frame doesn't have... well holes in the right places or whatever...
There is just the one hole, which is where you would mount a rear calliper...lucky for me I don't have one of those, so I need to connect that to one/both of the holes on the rack...
Alternatively...
Anyone want a pannier rack?
thanks,

I'm in the market for a new wheelset, I've been riding a cheap set (weinmann Dp18 rims on Quando hubs) for the last year, and they are doing the job, but I want something a bit quicker, and honestly a bit nicer looking.
I've been offered a set of wheels at a good price, goldtec hubs (i hear very good things) but they're laced to Mavic A719s. I've heard that these are very heavy and wide, and that they will probably undo the good done by have quicker hubs...
anyone got experience of using these classic touring rims on a fixed gear built for riding fast in the city?
thanks.

Bought to build up for my girlfriend, it never happened and now I need the space back.
Lovely step-through Elswick frame, not sure how to measure a step-through, but it's 46cm from the centre of the bb to the top of the seat tube and 55cm c-t-c along the diagonal top tube. it's pretty tatty but has no faults. gold with blue mudguards and a blue chain guard provided (but not pictured)
It has new cable inners and outers and new brake pads, it has a new seat (not pictured) brand new nos raleigh whitewall tyres.
At the moment, as I didn't finish the job, it has a three-speed rear hub (Sturmey Archer) which is running as single speed in the middle gear. A cable & shifter will easily turn this back into a 3 speed.
The astute amongst you will notice it has no chain in the picture. It now has a KTC chain on it.
