i just got hold of a bag, but can't use it as the bag is in the way when shifting (suspected this would be the case before I bought the bag)

I'm thinking of switching to bars with a slight flare and hoping that would solve the issue.

had a very near miss - both wheels slipped sideways but I miraculously managed to stay upright. very overcautious on the rest of the ride in.

maybe it was some kind of election metaphor? - big slide to the right but managed to get back on track rather than a heavy crash...

any interest in a Pentax k5 DSLR?
boxed, pretty light use, weather sealed, in body stabilisation etc.
I have quite a few lenses with it including weather sealed zoom, a couple of nice fast primes (AF and manual), and also a really nice billingham bag.
the real beauty is that it can use any k-mount lens so opens up loads of opportunity to pick up cheap / weird lenses.

i usually just wrap a bit of foil over my toes when it gets down to minus temps.
might have to try the footbed thing and see if it's any more effective.

my thinking is that the wind chill is more of a factor while cycling, whereas the cold comes up from the ground when walking...

i've used 28mm durano raceguard folding for thousands of kms and only had one puncture (a massive chunk of sharp glass that killed the tyre completely)

i had a set of g-one bite that i used over a long weekend of gravelling and they didn't hold up too well. couple of punctures and the little knobs showed some signs of wear afterwards as well.
i realise they're different tyres, but the little knobbles put me off a bit.
i think i'd prefer something with a more solid centre tread

conti cyclocross speed are pretty nice tyres.
i'd get a set if only they did a tanwall.

would prefer 35mm as i've got 45mm guards, tanwall if poss?
