Can I just add: A beautifully clean, lubed, quiet drive train. Perfectly adjusted gears (if you haz them). Dry roads with loads of grip, perfect for above average cornering speed. That snugness and comfort that freshly laundered cycling clothes gives. Cleats adjusted spot on.

I've seen a young lad a few times on The Isle of Dogs with a Boris Bike as his daily run around. He (or someone) has tried their best to un-Boris it. They've removed all the fairing, mudguards, stickers and lights etc. Still no mistaking it for a Bo Bike though.

I've always liked big ring/ middle of the block. Jockey wheel centres slightly forward of vertical. To me it just looks faster, as if its poised to accelerate hard. I find big ring/ small cog too high. The bike looks as if its going no where fast.

Just had a first go with my Speedplay Zero pedals last night. I have correct shims, held a straight edge up to the cleat and it was very level. I've not over torqued the screws. Cleats also lightly GT85'd.

I'm 74kg and I had to give hard stamp down to get into them. Thats not right, shirley?
