Emyr, not sure what you mean. The liners run pretty the entire length from shifter to mech. Obviously they are exposed where they run along the down tube. Purely for aesthetcs the white bugs me, as the rest of the bike has bike has very black parts.

I just bought the gear and brake set in black. Similar to Nokon. The cable moves inside a PVC liner. This liner is black on the brake cables but annoyingly its white (opaque) on the gear set. I emailed Alligator and they basically said tuff titties. A quick google and a couple of emails to PVC tube manufactures and it is apparent that for that liner size (1.3mm I/D approx) is readily available in white (opaque) but nothing else.

Anyone have any experience with this? I really want black liners.

Was the original question not a straight swap from small to medium cage with no gear spread change? All things being equal you should need a slightly longer chain?

Obviously in the real world it probably won't make any noticable difference.

Nah. If you think you have the perfect chain length and you suddenly fit a longer cage mech, the chain is now too short.

(it will probably be fine, depends how anal on 'perfect' chain length you want to be).

The longer cage should just move forward slightly to accommodate the now slightly short chain.

Theoretically you should get the same amount of cups of coffee. The 200g would look more in the whole beans as you'd have more air gaps. But you might waste some when you grind the beans, residue around the grinder, etc.

My point was that for the application that is a bicycle stem it wouldn't matter a rats ring which grade you used.
